Stayed one night at this hotel in Munich during the Oktoberfest, and it was very nice. It is one of the more expensive alternatives, but
1. clean
2. in a good location, just a couple of minute walk to the subway
3. spacious room
4. excellent breakfast included
5. shopping area
6. hotel parking spots
7. friendly bar personnel and nice hotel bar
negative would be
1. 3 people in the room and only shampoo and soap for 2
2. highly priced
3. reception people were not friendly

I would return, as I would rather have a nice central room than worry about the snobby reception.
*watch out for SMALL garage places!

We visited during the Oktober Feste and it was obviously more expensive than other times. Torbrau is a nice smaller hotel with friendly service and in a good location for walking all over town, including the beer gardens. The only problem we had, is the stairs you have to climb (with your luggage), no matter what floor you are on. To reach the elevator you first have to go up a flight of stairs and when you get to your floor you have to either climb or descent another flight of stairs. Bad design!

I love Munich and the Torbrau is the place to stay when you are here. Very close to the centre of town and the breakfast buffet is to die for. Great staff who are always happy to help whether it's directions to a restaurant or opening hours of a laundromat.

Great location just at the edge of the center of Munich and its historic city center. Rooms are on the small side, but very adequately furnished. Bathroom with separate tub was very large. Quiet and safe area and only a 5 minute walk to Hofbrau house, and city center. Beds were comfortable. Buffet breakfast was consistent, but varied with plenty of choices.
