“Perfect for short visits to the expo centre”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 10, 2012

I stayed here on business in July having flown in from London to Munich. A few minutes after getting off the flight I was checking in to the hotel - although initially they had lost my reservation. It turns out that when I booked through a booking partner it was entered incorrectly into the hotel system. So within 10 mins or so I was on my way to the room - very clean and modest in size for an airport hotel.

I was staying during Euro 2012 so there was a lot of activity in the Bar area as Germany were playing that evening. I went to the bar (I was staying on my own) and the food and drink was good too. They had some Euro 2012 specials such as Polish lager and foods.

Checkout was quick and painless and the next day I was visiting the exhibition centre (around 30 mins by coach). I exited the hotel and entered the airport to get the expo bus. Very quick and easy, I would recommend it again. I simply got a return journey ticket and left via Munich that evening back to LHR.

I will be staying in this hotel again for the same exhibition next year.

This is a beautiful hotel, but when we arrived we were told there would be a half hour wait for a room (we were a bit early)...which was fine. The reason we chose the Kempinski was that we had completed a long day of flying and wanted to try an airport hotel so that we could get some sleep. However, despite three trips to the front desk very politely inquiring about our room, we were not given a room for TWO HOURS. During this time at least a dozen other patrons were given rooms.

After this experience I completed the hotel survey online, and received an apology, which unfortunately was actually an offer to join the Kempinski "loyalty program."

Once again this hotel is impeccable in appearance......but does not compensate for lack of integrity.

Not in the biggest airport in Germany but still this airport hotel is fantastic , except being new ,super clean with well equipped rooms - the easiness you find it when you arrive and even easier way you check out and make your check-in at the airline counter is simply astonishing

We regularly find ourselves with flight itineraries through Munich that require an overnight stay when we are travelling to Central and Eastern Europe. Not sure why the airlines can't manage to coordinate schedules, but it is what it is. In any case, this is one of our favored airport hotels and we even look forward to the overnight stay at Kempinski. The only relatively small complaint is the prices in the restaurant...but with many other decent restaurants in the terminal nearby, that is not a huge issue.

Recently friends of ours also did an overnight in Munich and selected an "airport hotel" without much research and ended up 40 minutes away. Kempinski is part of the terminal complex and doesn't require a shuttle.

If you have an early day flight and can afford this, it's a no brainer. The staff is superb and so helpful, one even helped us bring our luggage to the terminal, and when we discovered that we went to the wrong place, he even came with us to the other terminal. The beds are very comfortable, the pool area is great for the kids, and the restaurant is excellent (although not cheap). This hotel is right next to the terminal and made our flight day much simpler. We were not bothered by any noise (the windows are quite sound proof). If you have an option to get breakfast, I would recommend it as there are many high quality options.

Airport Hotel, but very nice and a modernist design. The pool and sauna are first rate. The value of the buffet restaurant was OK. Wine too expensive. f you have a layover in Munich, the Kempinski is the place to stay. After a long flight it's only a short walk from the terminal.

The Kempinski can't be beat if you need to stay by the airport. Almost directly out the door of Terminal 2 (Star Alliance) and a short walk from Terminal 1 the location is perfect. In between the 2 terminals is the Munich Airport Center, a small mall whose highlight is a large outdoor beer garden with good food that is much less expensive than what is on offer at the hotel. I made the mistake on a previous overnight at Munich of staying at an off-site hotel; I felt like I was in the middle of nowhere with no food options other than the hotel.

This hotel is big, with a soaring and beautiful lobby/atrium. My standard room was spacious and comfortable. Request an exterior room (versus the atrium) for more privacy. The TV was great, with one of the best selections of international channels I've seen in a while. WiFi is not free, disappointing given the cost of the hotel.

The fitness facilities are generally well done. The gym is very well equipped for both weight-lifting and aerobic work-outs. The pool area is big and bright. What they call the spa though feels very sterile (think white tile, even in the massage room) without a relaxing feeling.

Save money on breakfast by walking over to the arrival level of Terminal 2. There's a Starbucks, and directly across is a grocery store with a great fresh fruit selection and an adjacent bakery.
