“Stayed during Oktoberfest”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed yesterday NEW

Easy to get to from the airport. As others have stated the train is located below the hotel which makes it easy to get around Munich if you don't want to walk the 10-15 mins to city center. Arrived well before the check in time and took care of the initial check in procedure (picked up keys when we came back after check in times). They have a locked luggage room so that you can drop your luggage and see the city while waiting for your room instead of taking it with you. Front desk staff was incredibly helpful. Rooms were clean with a safe and mini bar. We never heard anyone running up and down halls or talking outside our room as they passed by. Didn't bother eating breakfast at the hotel due to the price but instead went down to the shopping center located below to buy fresh fruit and juice to keep in the room (which cost less for the whole week than one breakfast). There is a bar in the lobby across from the front desk. Prices are more than you will find out in town which is the norm for most hotel bars that I have been in. Staff is pleasant and patient.

Overall the hotel was nice and clean for what we needed and my only complaint would be the mini bar as you're only given a small portion on the top shelf to put your own items on.

This is a good hotel and very handy for the U Bahn. This review is to save others from making the same mistake I did. BOOK BREAKFAST BEFORE YOU GO. I didn't, changed my mind when I was there and it costs 25 euros per person - it is a lovely breakfast, I ha\ve stayed here many times before but sorry, not worth 25 euros when there are plenty of other places to have breakfast. So don't make the same mistake I did - should add, we went out for breakfast, we didn't pay it. But don't let this put you off staying at the hotel, it is very good.

Room Tip: Ask for a room at the front - there is a lot of noise at the back.

This is a very practical business hotel. You can get there is 30 minutes by train from the airport. The train station is right under the hotel and there are signs showing you where to go. By taking the train from the airport you will save 80% compared to taking a taxi, which will be approximately 60 euros. You can take both trains, one takes a little longer but both take you to the hotel.

The hotel had good internet connection, the staff was friendly. Pre but breakfast if you intend to have breakfast. If you do it it will cost 17 euros vs 25
Euros of you buy at the restaurant and they only accept cash.

Dear Tribeiro2002,
Thank you for your valuable feedback with useful tips for our future guests. S8 is certainly a good alternative to the taxi. It runs every 20 minutes and takes 35 minutes to the Rosenheimer platz.
Thank you once again for staying with us. Look forward to welcoming you with greater enthusiasm in the days to come.

Best regards

This is a nice hotel and would get a better score if they sorted out just a couple of things:
1) I hate having to pay for parking when the room is £200 per night.
2) As mentioned in other reviews the queue at reception is usually very long. That said the staff are excellent.
3) If you go during the beer festival be prepared for the bar to be filled with highly vocal drinkers. As I arrived someone had just been sick in one of the lifts due to overdoing it at the beer festival.

If you are planning to come to the beer festival make sure to plan well in advance. We had to book over a year in advance as we came to do one of the family days at the beer festival.

The rooms are nice and the staff are very helpful and friendly, the review score is down to the issues we encountered.

Dear Withnail_19,
Thank you for your candid feedback. I will certainly extend your encouraging words to the rest of the team. It is our sincere effort to make you feel home away from home and your appreciation is our true reward. My apologies for the wait at the Reception. It is sometimes unavoidable during the peak times. The adjacent public garage is owned and operated independently and their tariff is therefore independent of the room rates. The parking on the street side is an economical alternative. I hope this info will help you in the future.
Thank you once again for staying with us. We value your business and look forward to welcoming again with greater enthusiasm and enhanced service standards in the days to come.

Always a very long queue at check in. No room safes. Very noisy lobby. We were given a room for disabled people. Not very appealing. Staff apologies were many. You can do better with any other hotel. Decent breakfast but very expensive. Wireless internet 10 Euros a day. Bathroom is on a slope going uphill. We moved to another hotel a few days ago.

Room Tip: Upper floors only away from elevator

The Holiday Inn (City Centre) was in a good location only a few hundred yards from the subway, which you can access through a small shopping centre underneath the hotel. The shopping centre has a couple of supermarkets underneath so avoid expensive minibar and hotel bar prices by visiting these and stocking up!! We also found a lively bar opposite the hotel steps on the Saturday evening which was open till about 5am. Munich city centre is about a 10-15min walk from the hotel but has numerous bars, restaurants and shops en route. The rooms were clean, beds comfortable and amenities catered for. There was also a swimming pool at the hotel but we did not use it. Our check in and check out could have been a little more straight forward and quicker. Check in is only from 3pm and we arrived at 12pm, one of our rooms was available but the other was not, it wasn't very clear from the member of staff at first and took some explaining. When checking out we had to wait approx 10mins in a que with a few other hotel users (Turkish) trying to jump the line but told by the staff in no uncertain terms to wait their turn!! There appeared to be massive influx of Turkish residents on the weekend we stayed, I am not sure of this was the norm. One of the only downsides was the expense of alcohol in the hotel bar, one of our party ordered a double whisky (Jamiesons) and lemonade which came to 18 euros (ouch!!). You can access the subway through the shopping centre in less than 5mins and is an easy start to your excursions. If you are in a group buy a multi-travel ticket for up to five people for four days for 68 euros, this includes all transport and discounts at attractions (be sure to print off the vouchers to supplement the ticket).

Dear yickpie369,
Many thanks for your valuable feedback. I am pleased to know that the location worked out well for you and the rooms were up to your satisfaction. It is the busiest time of the year and therefore my apologies that we could not offer you both the rooms at your arrival. The partner ticket like you suggested is certainly very helpful for the groups.
Thank you once again for staying with us. Look forward to welcoming you with greater enthusiasm in the days to come.
