This museum has some great pieces. Even if you don't know much about art from this period the museum has large open spaces to enjoy some very unique and enjoyable paintings. I do suggest that if you have a lackluster view of art museums that you experience the Neue Pinakothek. It will have more varied subjects of art as the Old museum is more focused around religious paintings from that period. Tours are available as well as an audio guide. This location will take at least a few hours to make it through all the halls. For art enthusiasts this can easily be an all day event. You can power through the Old and New Pinakotheks in one day. This will leave you exhausted. A piece of cheesecake is nice but the whole cheesecake is a burden. 14-18th century are period.
Rainy days are made for this museum.
Storage lockers, facilities, cafe, gift shop, and photos with no flash are all here.
