“unfriendly staff. avoid”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed December 7, 2012

I collect toy soldiers and was glad to stumble upon this museum. Surely a toy museum would have some fine examples of toy soldiers? I was shocked by the attitude of the elderly woman at the desk who told me sternly that they did not have any toy soldiers either for sale or on display.I asked her in German so there was no comprehension difficulty. I turned on my heel and spent my money elsewhere. I see other reviewers have met this woman as well!

“Well worth a visit”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 27, 2012

I am so please we stumbled across this gem. Hard to find on the edge of Marianplatz in a castle turret-like structure, the toy museum was incredibly moving and is well worth a visit. There are several levels of toys, accessible by lift or winding stairs. Some toys are ancient, some are from the mid 1900s but they're all crying out to be held or played with. The toy museum was one of the highlights of our visit. Well worth the entry fee.

“Not impressed”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed October 25, 2012

Unfriendly and unhelpful lady at the door. Not much on display, not worth the ticket price. Also you have to walk up a five storey tower with narrow stairways so not suitable for everyone.

“not worth the money”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed August 5, 2012

Some of the toys were neat to see. However, it's not what you think. It is nothing but a collection of toys and you have to climb bell tower style stairs to get to each level. It's 4 Euros a person and worth about 1 if that.

“Not only for children.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 30, 2012

Nice collections, not as large as in Nuremberg but enough for about one hour. If you have children, you will find for sure a toy that you can tell them : I had the same in 19xx. And a lot of stories about it.
