“great food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 25, 2013

Visited on a Sunday night with 2 friends from the UK. So very glad we reserved a table as the place was packed. We all enjoyed our food very much and I am sure we will be back.

“I will come back!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 13, 2013

Not far from the Marienplatz, but just enough out of the way to avoid the crowds, this is a restaurant worth returning to. Delicious Afghan cooking in a small and cozy restaurant. Prices are reasonable. Three of us had beers, soups/salads, and main courses (we all picked some variation of lamb) for a total bill of about EUR 80.

“Excellent Afghan restaurant”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 11, 2013

As others have said the food, decor and service at this small restaurant, centrally located in Munich is absolutely perfect!
I just ate there for €24.50 and had Afghan vegetable and noodle soup, grilled lamb with spinach basmati rice, 2 sauces, a side of aubergine, Afghan green tea and water. I think the price was very reasonable.
Each part of this meal was cooked with great respect to the ingredients- you could taste the care that had been taken! Special mention must be made of the grilled lamb which had a delicious smokey flavour and was really succulent.
I'm going back there tomorrow to try more of their vegetarian meals... well that's the intention... but the lamb might deserve a second try!

“Our Favourite Munich Restaurant!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 10, 2013

I wrote a review of Nigin a year ago, 12 months on we still visit every 2 weeks when I am in Munich. The food, service, décor is as excellent as ever, the only difference is that it is busier so for Friday and Saturday we always need to reserve a table. If you haven't tried Afghan food before you are in for a treat. The spices are subtle and varied, strong or mild depending on your taste - just ask and a clear description of a dish is readily forthcoming by the friendly owner. Plenty of vegetarian options.
We absolutely love this restaurant, it is easily one of the best we have ever visited.

“Truly Good Food.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 6, 2013

Eaten at Nigin several times, each time seemingly better than the last. The venue itself is very nicely decorated with lovely contrasting paint colours, beautiful lighting and an abundance of large colourful pillows. The food is simply excellent, with the lamb dishes deserving a special mention. The rice biryani is wonderfully complex without being hot as they often are in Indian cuisine. Not the cheapest place to eat, but worth every penny.
