After reading all the reviews, I was conflicted regarding the unsavory neighborhood. But we needed to catch a train to Prague at 5 am from the Hauptbahnhof, so decided to try the place, and do not regret our decision
We walked through the neighborhood to the train station several times, and had no issues at all. When we first landed, it was 10:30 in the night, we had our suitcases, the iPhone out trying to find our way- looked clearly lost, and had hapless tourists written all over us, but the whole place was well lit, and we had an uneventful walk to the hotel. We had to walk again at 4:30 AM, and the lady at the front desk said if I was walking alone, she wouldnt recommend it, but since my husband was with me - it was perfectly safe. And it was
Rooms were clean, airy. Breakfast was awesome. Staff was very friendly and helpful.
The only gripe I had was there was no A/C. I didnt read the description - simply assumed there would be one, but thats my fault. We left the windows open, but that brings in a lot of noise from the neighborhood bars. After a particularly horrendous rendition of "buffalo Soldier" at 4:30 am, for which I couldnt decide if I was amused or exasperated, we shut the windows, and turns out the windows are quite soundproof and the room wasnt very stuffy. Worked out all in all. Would definitely stay here again. Good value for the money
