Meticulously clean, efficient, friendly. This hotel was pretty costly as we happened to book during Oktoberfest, a coincidence. Grood would be great except that the mattress and pillows were hard and my wife had difficulty staying asleep.

We just stayed for the weekend here because we wanted something nice to spoil us after an organised running event in the area. We stayed in one of their "Superior" rooms which are pretty expensive and we chose something which is effectively at the bottom of the scale, and I have to say I was seriously disappointed that there was no bath to soak tired after-run legs in, in fact the whole bathroom felt more like an after-thought. The shower was separated from the rest of the rather small bathroom by a curtain and flooded the floor each time we took a shower. The bed was fine but the room on the whole appeared a little tired, the rugs on the floor were worn out and felt grubby and the wardrobe, TV cupboard and mini bar were behind padded door coverings which kind of made the room feel un-fresh. This hotel is supposed to be one of the leading designer hotels of the world, but I don't see anything that could really be considered "design" features in the rooms at all. The bed was fine and the windows could be opened to let in some fresh air, but also lets in the sounds of noisy beer-filled people walking around late at night.

Breakfast is really expensive but the location is right in town so there are many cafes and restaurants offering good breakfasts for a fraction of the price. The bar was limiting in choices of wine (3 red wines, all Austrian), but from what we could see this is probably a very good japanese restaurant, but we didn't try it.

The people are friendly enough from the little interaction we had with them, but since you can take a lift from your floor directly to the street we hardly saw any of the staff during our stay.

We stayed here for 3 nights while attending Oktoberfest, and chose the hotel based on it's location and price. I'm not sure what the going rate is normally, but during Oktoberfest we were lucky to get our room for 399 euros/night. The location is really the best of the city......right in the Viktualienmarkt. I was concerned that the noise level would be high, but I could not hear a thing from the market, and it was so nice to be in the center of all the activity and excitement. You could easily stroll to the Marienplatz and shopping, Hofbrauhaus, etc. We usually stay at the Le Meridien across from the Hauptbahnhof, but have found that area becoming more and more distasteful. Our room design was minimalist chic, so if you want Bavarian, forget about it, but easily one of the coolest environments I've ever been in. They have a rooftop terrace with great views, as well as a fitness area, private sauna, and japanese restaurant (not easily found in Munich). Although breakfast was not included, it wasn't missed, as it was so nice to walk downstairs to the Viktualienmarkt for a Bretzn and fresh squeezed orange juice from one of the many stands. Run, do not walk to the Louis Hotel. One of my new faves!

This is a hitel that is fine, simple and deluxe!
Our firast day the breakfast staff seemed lackadaisical as well as most of the reception staff. Housekeeping was on the dime and the bar staff in lounge area very attentive.
Location and noise were no problem. Stayed in room 609 and would go back in a second!
Went for Oktoberfest and it was great to be near the U-Bahn, shopping and everything!
Rooms are polished and extremely comfortable.
