“Great Location and brilliant staff in central Munich”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 31, 2013

We had a lovely time here the breakfast was smashing - great food with live musicians playing at the weekend. The rooms were large spotlessly clean and very modern with great air conditioning.
Right next to the tram stop or a 10 - 15 minute walk in to the town the location in quiet. Free wifi and a lovely pool - couldn't have asked for anything more. The staff are great and nothing was too much trouble. Would stay here again.

Been using these lately when travelling to Munich for business. Big rooms with big beds, superb breakfast, decent location, very friendly staff who help you in case for example a room change (had to do this once due to smoke coming in from somewhere), nice pool.

But as nothing is perfect, I have to mention the wifi infrastructure. It's fast and free, but the technology used requires inputting the passcode every time you want to start surfing. I'm not an expert in this area, but I know other hotels where you are logged into wireless network from a single device for the whole time of your visit. Plus the gym could be bigger.

After the disaster of the hotel in Salzburg (see previous review...not good!) we were so relieved to relocate back to Munich, one of the most wonderful cities in the world. We had stayed at this hotel a couple of years earlier and loved it so it was all very familiar and comforting arriving here again. Sadly it was only for one night before flying back to the UK but we are so glad we did. A large spacious room with air conditioning and lovely bathroom awaited us as did the very wonderful Hacker Haus restaurant at Marienplatz....wunderbar! I highly recommend this hotel and this city.

This hotel is situated about 10 minutes walk from the central station, on a main stretch of road... Somewhat conveniently, the Augustine Bierkeller is half-way along that road! The rooms are clean, tidy and function... The beds are huge and I found them comfortable - but this is always a personal preference. Breakfast was particuarly good, for an 'A' typical business hotel. As an added bonus the hotel also has a gym, sauna and pool (strangely on the 5th floor!)... which is good after a stressful day - probably at the Bierkeller....

Room Tip: Ask for a room facing into the courtyard, as opposed to the main road...

I came here on an overnight stopover on train journey to Ljubiana and found it to be ideal. Its about 10 minutes by taxi from Munich Hbf.

the hotel is quiet - i dont think I heard a noise until 7:30AM.

Breakfast is very reasonable.

the staff are all polite helpful and speak good English.

Not cheap but good value for what is deleivered.

Mark

Room Tip: I had 455 and had a very good nights sleep.

After just returning from a short stay in Munich, I can honestly say this hotel is great value for money. We were just looking for something comfortable, and not too expensive where we could stay during our summer break. The room was a good size, with comfortable beds, a TV, and tea/coffee/snacks available. The bathroom was modern, and a good size, but the tiling was a bit dark - can't really complain though. The only other thing which was slightly annoying was the lack of coffee and milk in the room, but all the staff were very pleasant and you only had to ask and they equipped you with whatever you needed. We didn't take breakfast during our stay, so I can't comment on the quality of the food, but there was a Lidl approx 2 minutes walk away, so you could buy a selection of croissants and juice for a fraction of the cost. The hotel also appeared to be incredibly suitable for people working/business trips, with many conference rooms and free wifi - which I think was great, as many hotels charge a lot extra for this service. As for the location - it was ideal really... with Munich's superb transport network, you are never more than 5 minutes away from a s-bahn/u-bahn so getting around is no problem at all, but if you did choose to walk into the centre - Marienplatz it is only approx 20 mins by foot. I would definitely recommend going to the English Gardens and the Olympic Gardens, and if you wanted to hire bikes, they are only approx 15 euros per person from the main station. Finally, I would also recommend the Augustine beer garden, about a five minute walk from the hotel, where you can eat in the evenings, food is basic, but delicious and there is lots of beer, and a really great atmosphere.

Stayed for three nights. Hotel is modern with clean lines, functional. Room was very good, although wasn't happy with having requested a double, king or queen were given two single beds pushed together with two single duvets on top.

Somewhat mean with the little things, such as soap (one very small bar) and body wash (again in very small size), but the breakfast made up for it. Price of breakfast was 14 Euro and worth it as there doesn't seem to be any other cafes in the vicinity that didn't need a lot of walking to. Breakfast spread was excellent and they very happily obliged if we asked for porridge and eggs other than what was on offer.

Location - very handy to the main station (15 mins walk) and to Marienplatz (centre of town) which was 20-25 mins walk.

Staff on front desk were very helpful.
