Description: Winner of the 2008 Munich Restaurant of the Year Award, the cosy atmosphere of a country house is what greets you upon your visit to the Bogenhauser Hof in Munich. However, if all you are expecting is Wiener Schnitzel and chips, prepare to be pleasantly surprised. In their well-established restaurant, Susanne and Gerhard Gleinser have focused on diverse international cooking of the highest order, all available from a menu that is creative and eclectic. You can dine in the elegant dining areas of the restaurant or under the chestnut tree in the garden, whilst private parties of 6 to 30 people can be hosted in various private rooms. For these particular occasions, the restaurant offers a special menu with plenty to suggest.

“Really good”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 7, 2012 via mobile

I was invited for a business dinner there and it was the correct choice. We were offered some delicious apetisers while chosing the food from the menu. Had scallops for starter and peak perch for main. Everything was very tasty and beautifully presented. The desert was chocolate mousse with the freshest berries and matching ice cream. Rheingau Riesling completed the picture. Highly recommended.

“Pretty good food, but not great by any stretch”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 15, 2012

Probably really good for German food. Asparagus salad was fantastic. Lobster soup was average. Very nice ambiance but the mains were just ok and I tried 4. Dessert was sub par. I really don't get all the great reviews.

“Excellent restaurant”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 23, 2012

If you get the chance to eat here, do it. Especially when asparagus is in season (April through June). Their "Spargel" creations are amazing and weather-permitting be sure to sit out on the veranda and dine there. The number 16 tram goes right by the door, too, so great for convenience.

“Classic German eatery”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 17, 2012 via mobile

Ate here on business in Munich in a private room so can't comment on the main restaurant ambiance but what I saw looked cosy and attractive. Food expensive but quality was right up there and highlights for me were Lobster soup, white asparagus (in season just now) and black pudding/Lentil starter.

Service was 1st class - menus in English and staff all spoke fluently. Unfussy and explained what things were.

They offer a fixed price taster (5 courses) for €79.

“my best dinner in Munich”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 15, 2012

The food was excellent, the service very friendly and efficient and the ambience was very pleasant. I had dinner in three very prominent Munich restaurants, Bogenhauser Hof was by far the best. The lobster soup is definitely a must.
