I stayed here with friends during Oktoberfest 2012, and although the location is superb for this, the service at this hotel was terrible. I expect to pay more for Munich hotels during Oktoberfest, but I aslo expect to get what I am playing. We had originally booked a 'deluxe room' for three nights at a cost of over €1100. After checking in, went to our room and found it to be the pokiest, tiniest hotel room I have ever stayed in. Seriously, there was no room for two suitcases, and two people to be able to move around the roomwithout having to climb over each other. On calling down to reception, they admitted that they had made a mistake, and that this was NOT in fact a deluxe room, but they had none available until 'tomorrow'. So, we stuck with it, and changed room the day after. This 'deluxe' room was hardly any bigger, but in order not to ruin our weekend, we decided to stick with it.

After coming back from Oktoberfest, we fancied a couple of drinks in the hotel bar. We descovered that there was no barman on duty after 11pm, and that drinks would be served by the person on reception throughout the night, which seemed fine, until after asking him three times, before 15 minutes later he could be bothered to move away from his computer and actually serve. The rudest man I have ever come across in hositality.

NEVER AGAIN.

Room Tip: Book somewhere else if you want a good room.

My bf and I stayed here on a 5 night trip, the hotel was great - ok 1st impression despite ongoing renovations on the street, once you stepped inside you didn't notice.
Undisturbed sleep, room was facing a court yard (no noise), fantastically cleaned each day (fresh towels, mini bar re-stocked etc). The location was great - a small walk from the main street with shops, bars and an outdoor farmers market. Was also facing the train station making commuting to the airport for our flights easy and cheap.
Overall, would definitely return to this hotel and recommend it to anyone.

We stayed here for 4 nights. The location is very convenient. It is about a 15 minute walk from the Oktoberfest fairgrounds, right across the street from Hauptbahnhof (central train station) and very close to a really great shopping area near Marianplatz. The front desk staff were very nice and very helpful. We had booked a deluxe room because I was concerned about the room being too small. I was very happy we did. Other people travelling with us did not upgrade and their room was very small. Our room was just barely enough for 2 people. The bathroom was very very tiny. Our room was on the 2nd floor and overlooked the street. This ended up being a nightmare because there are hostels across the street. The air conditioning in the hotel was horrible and at night the room got very hot. We tried opening the windows but there was so much noise on the streets and it kept us up for hours. It didnt let up all night long. The people were so loud all night, screaming, yelling and drinking in the street. The block is very dumpy, there is nothing nice about it at all. It seems more like a dumpy dirty alley then a street. There is a parking garage under the hotel but it is so tiny. The spaces are so tight that we basically returned our rental car early just to avoid having to park there any longer. There is a hotel bar but the bartender is also the front desk employee so its annoying because they have 2 jobs to do and cannot be there all the time if you wanted a drink. If you are a Leonardo Advantage member you get 1 hour of free wifi per day. I chose this hotel because of the convenient location. What I paid per night to stay here during Oktoberfest was absolutely ridiculous and this hotel was not worth even half of what I paid. I think that is why I am so disappointed. This was not the only place I stayed while on vacation. Munich was just one stop on my trip. I stayed at hotels that were much cheaper and SO much nicer. I wouldnt stay here again.

The hotel was conveniently located next to the central train station, Oktoberfest grounds, and old city center and sights in Munich. Only downside is that it's across the street from youth hostels and seems at night the area can get a little sketchy but not uncomfortably so (casino and clubs). The hotel staff was very nice and helpful. Overall very good value and great location. Room was a bit small but we expected them to be so not really a big deal!

The only negative I can think of for this hotel is the neighborhood: Youth hostels across the street and casinos and sex bars on the next street over makes it less than desirable to walk around.

But otherwise the location was everything we could have asked for as vacation travelers: Close to the Hauptbahnhof gave us options for snacks and shopping. Close to the tour buses. Close to the pedestrian zone and all the opportunities it affords.

The staff was so cooperative and friendly. We arrived earlier than the normal check-in time. But the young lady allowed us to leave our hand luggage in the secure closet while we walked around. Then we were still able to check in early when we returned a little later.

Room Tip: Pick up breakfast items from the Hauptbahnhof. So many options there!

Spent a night here as we were stopping over in Munich on route to the Ukraine. We were a 'walk in' and hadn't booked. Checking in took ages, much longer than any other hotel I've stayed in.

Long story cut short:

The room appeared clean but there were cobwebs in the corners. Bathroom was clean though.

The room faced youth hostels over the street that had a constant gang of smokers outside, shouting all through the night.

The balcony outside was littered with cigarette butts, and an old pair of socks!!

The glass light above the shower kept falling out of the ceiling while you were in there, which was dangerous!

On a positive note the shower was large and powerful.

We pointed out these things as we checked out, and the staff member was unwilling to make a gesture, on the bill or remove 2 drinks from the bar that we had had the night before.
