“small room, noisy, good location”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed December 5, 2012

for traveller with no requirement, just wanted to have a bed to sleep in the city center close to train station, this hotel is enough.
Internet connection is included in room price and is working very well, at each location you are in (room, breakfast, or entrance).
Indicate in your reservation for non smokking room, because smell is strong of tobacco in some rooms.
No bar to gather with friends and have drink.
Breakfast is good quantity and quality. But noisy (metal chairs).
Room is very tiny, no place to put the luggage, no furniture to put clothes.Curtains are not big enough to close window at night.
If you are on the street side, it is light and noisy from cars/trucks. no restaurant , nor bar accessible, very small elevator. avoid if you have handicap.
no service available oustide of providing the key at reception desk.

But if you plan

Room Tip: preferrable to ask a non smoking room opposite to street side

This hotel was cheap and close to the Hauptbanhof. Our experience at check-in wasn't great, the receptionist was rude and reflected poorly on the hotel. Our room was clean and basic. No shower screen and poor drainage meant the bathroom flooded easily. This place is good for quick stays and if you don't care about customer service.

Four of us stayed in the Atlas City Hotel for four nights in two rooms as part of a road trip through Germany.

The pros:
(i) located within an easy walk of Munich's main train station that is a hub of trams, bus, trains, u-bahn and s-bahn.
(ii) the staff is great - professional, friendly and helpful
(iii) really comfy bed; clean loos and bed linen
(iv) free wifi
(v) if u have a car and park in their recommended parking lot, they'll validate your ticket for a significantly lower rate
(vi) standard but adequate breakfast for an additional £7
(vii) the room has no safe but they do have a huge one that is available for guests to use

Cons:
(i) the area around the station (as is the case with most station localities) is kind of crummy - though did not feel unsafe
(ii) the rooms are tiny - when I say tiny I mean that we were considering shouting 'fore' each time we planned on making a move. The loo is tiny too and the shower ends up all over the floor so save some towels to mop up.
(iii) pillows are really uncomfortable and we both left with kricks in our necks
(iv) each room only has one key - this was a real problem if one of us decided to stay in and the other person went out mainly because the key needs to be left in a slot to turn the electricity in the room on. So, if one person left the person who remains either has no light or has to stay up to let the person in
(v) the walls are thin as are the doors so this means that people talking in the hallways can get annoying at night. We had a group next door having a loud after-party at 4 am that had us jumping out of a deep sleep. The staff responded to our call by getting them to cut it out but it too a good 20 mins or so for the shouting and music to stop.

Room Tip: ask for a room that doesn't face the main street as it is super loud w the window open.

Enjoyed our weekend stay here. The double room was small but very clean. Nice bright and airy breakfast room with plenty of choice of hot and cold food. A decent cup of tea! Very good value all around.

Great location near Hauptbanhof. Stayed during Oktoberfest which meant that the room rate was at least twice than normal - hence the "poor" rating - however that is the same throughout Munich during Oktoberfest! Rooms small, basic but clean and functional - Shower W/C looked as if it had recently been refurbished and and was very clean and functional. Breakfast good value at €7 but the breakfast room was furnished with tables and benches that you would find in a beer garden - quite quirky. Staff efficiently attentive and friendly - lots of info on what to do avialable. Would stay again

Room Tip: Rooms to the rear of the hotel are quieter. Paul Heyes Strasse is a very busy street. No air con so...

Stayed here for two nights over Oktoberfest. Perfect location (5mins walk) and nice and clean. Bit of a weird vibe at the time though as all the other guests seemed to be middle aged males who kept staring at my friend and I (both females in late 20s), especially while having breakfast which was a bit offputting! In saying that it served the purpose as an easy stop for a couple of nights. Don't bother with getting the breakfast, much nicer food places nearby.

Room Tip: Make sure to ask for a room facing towards the back rather than the main road which is very busy and...

As with all hotels in the area during Oktoberfest, the room prices tripled. The location was FANTASTIC for the event. The staff was very helpful. The room was VERY small and the bed a bit on the, well used, side. On the very first shower taken, the shower head blew off from the water pressure. They couldn't fix it that night but it was taken care of the next day (with calk). The parking was difficult to find and quite expensive (20 Euro per night). The breakfast was good. In spite of the negatives, I'd book this hotel again.

Note: I had booked this hotel about 9 months earlier. We had to cancel one of the two rooms because the other couple could make it. I canceled through the booking site and kept the re confirmation E-Mail. Thank God, because the hotel had no record and had I not kept it with me, they would have charged me another 500 Euro for the second room.
