“Why waste money on a city centre hotel?”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 days ago NEW via mobile

What can I say. This is an excellent hotel for the money. Although located around 2 miles east of the city centre, it has excellent transport links for those visiting for pleasure or business.

Booked via hotels.com. Yes you can pay cheaper but this place worked out excellent value especially given it's vicinity to the S8 train service from the airport. It literally is only a 5 minute walk from the station which will also take you into the centre of town or give access to the u-bahn network.

Checkin was smooth. Didn't need to roll out my German with a friendly and well polished staff. Managed to buy 3-day pass from them for the train/bus/tram which was really helpful.

Rooms were on the fourth floor. They have a funky interior design and are adorned with photos! Bedroom area isn't the biggest but bathroom and walk in shower was a nice surprise. Basic tea/coffee facilities are free although being English black tea, milk and some biscuits would be a nice addition. View is nothing special but this is not the Alps. Beds were a little on the soft side although the choice of pillows and super warm duvet was great. You can also open the window if too warm which not all hotels offer.

Food for us was limited to breakfast but the menu and price of their evening meal looked good. Breakfast choice was amazing although the staff did like you to sit where they wanted and not where you wanted. Nothing much to add although again if you bear in mind the price they charge for this place it really ticks all the boxes.

We sat in the bar one evening and had a great coffee. Mainly German clients but we were made to feel welcome while they were watching the fussball.

Overall can recommend this hotel if you don't want to pay city centre prices. Yes being where it is choice of outside restaurants are limited but it is only around 15 mins from the centre of town. There are a couple of supermarkets next door plus a fitness first gym with a €10 per day access for guests. Nice and secure luggage storage to enable you to enjoy your last day if you have a late flight.

We spend 1 night here for 2014 Christmas visit to Munich. We did not want a hotel in the city mainly due to high prices and found Angelo as an option. It was surprising experience, nothing fancy, but what they do is just perfect.
Highlights:
1. Standard, but very well done rooms, superclean with excellent bathrooms
2. Very quiet, even though close to busy road
3. Reasonable parking price 10 EUR/Day
4. Excellent connection to highway, no traffic jams on the way
5. Fantastic breakfast, tasty and great selection
6. Fast and friendly checking
7. Convenient location just 1 minute walk from train station. The trains are comin every 2-4 minutes, we never had to wait more on both ways. Ticket for up to 5 person was 11,8 EUR, whcih is very good.
8. Small shopping centre closeby if you need something

Bad things:
I have no really.

In general, business hotel but I will stay here again on private trips as well. There is nothing that would be telling me to stay elsewhere.

OK for 1 night, but they could make some solid improvements: the desk chair is hard + uncomfortable, the heating system doesn't work (December -- cool air coming out of vents all night + front desk had no solution), and according to front desk nearly all rooms have twin (camping-size) beds. In 2014 !! They say they offer breakfast in room but there is no menu -- you have to call room service + explain every food item you want. On the positive side: nice design, very friendly personnel.

I stayed here for 2 nights, avarage service and rooms, slightly snappy service at the reception desk but okay. The breakfast coffee was poor and tasted like the flask in which it was served. Nice bar area, good internet- connection, very clean rooms.

Room Tip: Ask for different coffee.

We have just returned from a three night stop at the Angelo Hotel, Leuchtenbergring, booked through British Airways. And what a hotel it proved to be, the nicest we have stayed in. Immaculately clean, beautifully quiet, everything you could wish for on hand and service second to none.

From the moment we arrived at reception (after a lengthy walk the wrong way from the S Bahn station which is in fact only a minute away - the moral being spend more time reading the signs and less trusting your iPhone, especially in a tunnel!) we were made to feel at home. The staff spoke immaculate English (better, it has to be said, than many of the staff these days in British hotels) and did not make one feel guilty for not knowing German. Check in was simple, and thereafter reception were able to help with anything we needed, arranging tickets for travelling around Munich (which has an excellent public transport network), explaining where things were in the city and generally being helpful and friendly.

The hotel is located about 25 - 30 minutes from the airport by train and less than 10 minutes train ride from Marienplatz, the hub of the Christmas market scene in Munich. As already stated the station is a minute's walk away.

The room (one of the executive rooms on the 5th floor) was immaculate and the bed extremely comfortable, and most importantly the room was quiet, probably the quietest hotel room yet in our experience, with free minibar and wifi, as well as convenient touches such as a safe, excellent air conditioning / heating, underfloor heating in the well appointed bathroom, and, unusually for the continent, tea and coffee making facilities. OK so the TV only had two English channels but who goes on holiday to watch TV?

Service in the lounge bar was excellent, as it was in the restaurant where we ate on two evenings. I think we were lucky to have booked early (before going out in the morning) on the second occasion because as another reviewer has mentioned there was a private function in the large room normally used for breakfast. This did not spoil our enjoyment of our meal or seem to affect the excellent service, and apart from attendees going past in the corridor we would hardly have known about it.

Breakfast was superb, an enormous choice with everything you could possibly want for a continental breakfast, fruit, yoghurt , cereal, every kind of cold meat and pickle, boiled eggs, scrambled eggs, bacon, sausages, bread, jam, cakes........ Again, service was excellent. At quieter times (Friday morning for example) you were able to walk in and sit at any made up table, whereupon a waitress magically appeared almost instantly to offer tea or (excellent) coffee. On Saturday it was much busier and a reception service was operating, ensuring that you were shown promptly to a suitable table. We had to wait about 2 minutes, no great hardship there.

I could continue to wax lyrical about this hotel and its staff, suffice to say it was a wonderful base for a very enjoyable short break and somewhere we hope definitely to return.

A big thank you to all the staff for making it so.

Just back from Munich staying at Angelo's hotel with my husband and two friends. Have stayed there before and also in other hotels of the same group. The hotel is nice, not too big.Very clean. Good for transport from airport and also for getting into the city, also it is a lovely walk into the city centre.
Reception staff very friendly and helpful. Like a previous reviewer, thought there could be more English stations on TV.
Bit of a problem with the restaurant though. Firstly when we came down for breakfast, at about 9 o'clock, we were not allowed to sit at several of the tables as we were advised they were "closed" and there were reserved signs put on them! Seems to be that the waiting staff want everyone to sit up nearer the kitchen for some reason, this did not just happen to us. Surely you should be able to sit at any table, it's not exactly a big restaurant.
Also we wanted to book a table in the restuarant one night for a meal and were advised it was closed for a private function. We were not very happy about this and think it would have been a good idea to tell guests in advance, perhaps when you arrive, as we would the have had the chance to choose another night. Just wonder if the corporate client is more important to the hotel than the holiday traveller. The same thing happened to us in Andels in Berlin a couple of years ago.
Having used this hotel group now for many holidays we all felt a bit let down.

Hotel is clean and rooms are well equipped. The s bahn is just feet away, which is very convenient. The hotel is on a major road and even on a 4th floor room, there was some noise. The hotel is only about 4 or 5 stops from central Munich, but feels very far out. There did not seem to be many restaurants within a mile walking distance either. Breakfast is varied: eggs, cooked meats, cold meats and cheeses, breads, etc. I had dinner one night there and it was just more than acceptable for the price. Staff very friendly.
