Description: Champor is the very first Malaysian dining in Germany. Based in Munich. Champor showcases the Malaysian home-style kitchen and the favourite street food, especially from Penang, my home. We do not Europeanise or compromise our food in any way. When we say spicy , we mean it. For some it will be an adventure for the palate, and for some of you, you might have to get used to it first. Our service team mirrors the hospitality of Asians. Champor is cosy and is like a sitting room of a good friend. We look forward to having you with us.

“Excellent Malaysian”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 8, 2013

Champor is always a hit with our friends. Friendly service, very tasty food, nice relaxed atmosphere. The staff have been there for years and seem to know everyone - and even if you come back after months, don't be surprised when they recognise you! As with just about any restaurant in Germany, "spicy" is toned- down quite a bit from the original, so do ask for the level of heat if that's what you want.
Reservations are a must! Although it is far away from other restaurants in Munich, it is regularly booked up by repeat guests.
Take Bus number 188 in the direction Daglfing from Herkommerplatz (connections there to Bus 54 and to trams 16 and 18.) The stop is Wartherstrasse and the restaurant is just behind the Voll Corner as you alight from the bus.

“Great dinner location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 22, 2012 via mobile

We had a table on friday evening (reservation needed, it was quite full) and had spring rolls for starters, a spicy lemon grass chicken curry (menu online is not identical to menu on site), a crispy duck and ondeh-ondeh as desert... Service was excellent, food was excellent and some was even quite malaysian authentic (lemon grass chicken & ondeh-ondeh) so all in all a very recommandable experience!)

“A very nice meal”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 16, 2010

I was looking a an Asian restaurant while I was in Munich to take some colleagues. We went to Champor on a week night and had a very enjoyable meal. We eat outside in the courtyard area which was nice, and the food we had was fantastic. The staff were all very helpful and spoke English fluently.

“Amazing experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 27, 2010

Since 3 years we have Champor several times. Everytime the food, the ambience and the service were perfect. The starters (butter prawns, udang serai etc.) as well as dishes (black pepper prawns, crispy duck etc.) taste delicious. Sambai udang which is prawns in housemade sambai chili is the hottest meal I had in my life. But once you start you cannot stop. I ordered this several times since, although I know it will burn like hell. The ambient ce is very nice decorated, fool of colours but not overloaded. In the summer if the weather allows you can sit in the very romantic decorated garden. The service is also extraordinary. Especially in Munich where not much communication occurs normally between the service and the customer.
All in all, one of our favourite restaurants!

Great food! Fresh ingredients, dishes made on the spot (nevertheless relatively short waiting times). Very good service, English spoken. Curry Laksa made according to original recepy (watch out, though, the extra sauce is HOOOOT). I recommend the prawns in black pepper sauce. Definitely going back!
