I stayed 3 nights at this hotel with my sister. It's clean, breakfast is good, and the location of it is excellent (a 5 or so minute walk to the central train station, and a 15 minute walk to Marienplatz), however we had so many issues that overshadowed those perks.
First was that my sister was not on the booking. I tried to contact the hotel prior to arriving to let them know that it would be two people, not just one - no success. So when I arrived I let them know. I booked a single comfort room, which has two twin beds and a sofa bed, and is plenty big enough for two people. The woman at the front desk informed me that it would be an additional 20 euro per night for my sister. I asked what this was for, and she said she was giving me a deal, that it's usually 30 euro, and it was for breakfast (7 euro) and the bed. I mentioned that the room would be staying the single room, and that we were not getting anything extra or changing rooms, so why the charge for the bed? She took a rude tone and informed me that she didn't know where I stayed before, but this is a three star hotel and that is how they do things here. She also noted that my single comfort room is actually a double room, insinuating that I got upgraded. However I paid for that room, so there was definitely no upgrade on the part of the hotel. After I went back to my room and brought her down the information on cost and room differences, she eventually relented and agreed that we just pay for breakfast. Not a great start.
The internet is AWFUL. Firstly, they only give you one log-in and it only works on one device - extremely annoying if you have both a smartphone and a laptop, which I did. I literally had to beg for a second one. Secondly, if you use it with an iphone, it signs you out as soon as the phone locks. Meaning that pretty much every time you want to use your phone to check email, use whatsapp, etc., you have to log back in. I thought it wouldn't be too bad, but by the end of the first night we were so irritated.
On our second day we had both internet passwords stop working, AND both key cards. After three trips up and down the stairs, the gentleman at the front desk did reset them all for me. Seemed as though they set the passwords and keys for the wrong dates - some were to expire the 19th, some the 20th... I don't know how this happened, but after a long day in the cold and snow I was not too pleased.
Lastly - and this one ties in a bit with the first - the staff could definitely be more polite. We did encounter a few people who were nice and helpful, but there were some who made you feel as if every question or request was an inconvenience to them.
The price was good, but not sure if I'd stay here again.
