The restaurant is located in a quiet residential neighbourhood which is well out of the downtown core, but easily reached via the U5 subway, stoppping at Michaelibad station, and walking about 500 meters. We used a GPS, but careful checking of a map should enable easily finding the place. We made a reservation well in advance of going here and a table was waiting when we arrived. We were seated quickly.
We asked for and were given English menus as we did not speak Greek or German. The waiter, in fact almost all the waiters spoke English fairly well and we had no trouble comunicating. We ordered a cold appetizer platter for two and grilled octopus as appetizers (for 4 adults). These came within 10 minutes. The portion sizes were excellent, and the taste superb. The appetizer included feta cheese, olives, lentils, tomatoes, tarama, roasted eggplant,sun-dried tomato spread, dolmades, beets and tzatziki. The grilled ocotpus was large and perfectly cooked and one of the best we'd ever had.
Our main courses consisted of the Nefeli platter for 2 (lamb, pork, and turkey) and scampi (3 plates for 4 people). They each came with salads and some cooked vegetables. The meat was well prepared and the scampi nicely cooked. The flavours were great and the portion size huge! We had a nice Greek red wine and they gave us several shots of complimentary ouzo during the meal.
We were stuffed at the end of the meal, but still managed to order Halwas. They gave us a complimentary desert of donuts and fried pineapple.
We thoroughly enjoyed this restaurant and it was worth the trip to get there. We have no hesitation in recommending this restaurant to anyone who likes authentic Greek food. The staff were welcoming and helpful and the price for good, plentiful food for 4 was reasonable. The cost for the meal was about 90 Euros, plus alcohol and sparkling water. We felt we got good value for the money spent.
