We spent two days at this hotel in July. The accommodation is very basic, but clean and functional. Frankly, in a place like Hohenschwangau, you spend most of the time outside so this does not matter much. The breakfast is fine - exactly what you would expect in this kind of location. We had a great view of Neuschwanstein Castle from our balcony window!

The service was excellent. Sabine, the front desk manager, was friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. She went out of her way to make our stay a pleasant one, even making up for a poor dinner experience at the Liesl, their sister hotel! She also helped us plan a beautiful driving day trip through the surrounding areas. (Tip: Don't focus only on the two castles when you are here - the countryside is well worth the trip, especially Linderhof Castle.)

This is really all you need in Hohenschwangau.

I and my girlfriend stood here for three nights in Easter weekend 2009.
The hotel was easy to find, clean and comfortable. Staff is nice and polite and Mrs. Sabine (that speaks a fluent English) did her best to make our stay as good as possible.
Breakfast is not huge but has everything you need to start your visits to the castles and to the surrounding area.
Position is perfect: only 5 minutes walk from the restaurants and it has a perfect sight on Neuschwanstein.
Should I go there again, I'll lodge at Schlossblick Hotel for sure.
100% recommended with no reserve!

From the beginning to the end it was perfect. We could park our car while we waited for the place to open at 3pm. We walked to the castle ticker counters and the shops. The woman was so friendly and helpful, and we even got a discount on some of the restuarants in town. The price was great, after booking it online. No TV or internet, but that was fine. Breakfast was included and it was a typical German breakfast. Coffee was great.

The best part, was when we opened the curtains, there was a magnificent view of Neuschwanstein castle, up on the hill. In the morning, a light fog around it gave it its mistic.

We stayed at the hotel in early March and the location was fantastic! As we walked back to the hotel after having dinner in town, we could see both castles clearly. The room was comfortable and the breakfast was very good with a broad selection. The staff spoke English and were extremely friendly. Recommend highly!

Great location and good value.

Well worth consideration for short stays to take in the castles which are a short walk away. The room was comforatable, and we had access to the shared balcony which has a view of Neuschwanstein Castle.

Staff were friendly and the breakfast good (usual fare of cold meats, cheese and cereal).
