“Totally Charming”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 29, 2009

This charming hotel is located in the Partenkirchen part of town to Garmisch. The hotel has an outside cafe which is open until 10:00AM with wonderful Bavarian fare, beer, very good coffee, and amazing desserts. The apple strudel is to die for. The area surrounding the hotel is lovely with painted houses and storefronts. Plenty of restaurants are located within walking distance (2 more Bavarian restaurants with music and an amazing Italian restaurant down a block). Our room was on a corner with a balcony which was sometimes rather warm but we just opened the windows to get a cross breeze. The room was very clean with Bavarian painted furniture, a refridgerator bar, and a wide screen TV). The shower does have a deep floor which can be a tub if you are small enough (I'm 5'2" and I fit). The wait staff was very friendly and most helpful. Breakfast in the morning was just perfect with scrambled and soft boiled eggs, bacon, a wide variety of meats and cheeses, cereal, and a fresh hot pot of coffee on the reserved by room tables. We were lucky enough to have great weather so sitting outside for dinner was a delight and the views from the upper rooms afford you a look of the Zugspitze and surrounding mountains. The price of the room was truly affordable. The hotel has a bus stop in the front and is a 15 minute walk from the train station. The hotel has reserved parking spaces as well. I would definitely stay here again.

The Drei Mohren is my most favorite hotel in the world, I have stayed in the hotel about twelve times and each time I go to Garmisch-Partenkirchen I spend my time there. The hotel is located in Partenkirchen on a beautiful street called "Ludwigstrasse" and is very charming and authentically Bavarian. The owners are very friendly and really make you feel at home. The breakfasts are wonderful and restaurant in the hotel offers the best food. I used to live in Garmisch-Partenkirchen and know the area very well and although the town has an abundant supply of hotels you cannot go wrong by choosing the Drei Mohren. The only tiny complaint is that the shower gel the hotel provides is not enough, so you may want to bring your own, but I guess you could always ask for more. While in Garmisch-Partenkirchen be sure to visit the Partnachklamm, a cool gorge near the ski stadium. The entrance fee is only two Euros and is worth the visit. There are numerous hiking trails around the town, beautiful lakes to swim in, hills to ski on, and great places to eat. Garmisch-Partenkirchen has it all.

We had a great stay in this hotel. It is centrally located in Partenkirchen and it is walkable to many restaurants. The train station (and Rathaus where you can pick up several buses) are both within a 10 min walk. We had a hotel with a balcony and the view was incredible. The breakfast in the morning is plentiful and well worth it. The restaurant is a bit overpriced but the food is decent. Staff are friendly and accommodating.

This is a charming Alpine hotel with spectacular views and a convenient location. One immediate plus for us was the car paking at the rear of the hotel. Our room was clean comfortable, bright and quaint, with a balcony providing excellent views of the Zugspitze to the right and the unfortunatey named Wank to the left. The room did however seem to have very thin walls which meant that we could hear most what our neighbours were doing/watching/saying. Most of the hotel staff were friendly (though some were not) and the breakfast buffet was excellent. The restaurant also offered a comprehensive lunch and dinner menu and our experience of the food was very good.

We considered this hotel to be exceptionally good value for money and a good base for exploring Garmish-Partenkirtchen and the wider area. We had a fabulous stay in the Bavarian Alps and this hotel played a key part.

I stayed here in July 2009 and booked after reading the previous Trip Advisor reviews.

I well run hotel is a thing of beauty and this place is a beautiful place.

It’s situated right in the middle of Partenkirchen and there is parking at the rear of the hotel.

The room was very nicely decorated and spotlessly clean though a little on the small side.

Breakfast is the usual quality help yourself buffet but does feature scrambled eggs, bacon and sausages, so you can have the full-English should you wish.

The evening food is spot on; quality German dishes nicely presented.

All-in-all a very comfortable hotel and one to return too.

It's good to see that this well located hotel is getting great reviews. As a Bavarian I return to my hometown as often as possible and was raised on traditional Bavarian cooking. The cook at this restaurant, on the Saturday we went, obviously didn't know how to cook a schnitzel. My wife had ordered one and we both agreed that it was inedible. Unfortunately my wife had suffered silently through several mouthfuls before I noticed she wasn't interested in her dish. As for the other items on the menu, average standard, nothing exceptional. Dining room is charming and service was ok (we had a trainee). In checking with local relatives, it seems we aren't the only ones disappointed.

This is one of the best hotels that I have ever stay in. We booked a double room with a balcony and had awesome views of the mountains. The room for 85 Euro (including breakfast) (free parking at hotel) is a steal. Big room, comfy beds, small table and chairs, flat scrren tv, and a chair. The balcony also had table and chairs. Bathroom was nice and very clean. Service was great and dinner was yummy as well. The breakfast was awesome... They had everything.... Bacon, sausage, eggs, bread, jams, yougurt, fruit, juices, coffee, cold meats, anything you could possibly imagine! It was by far the best breakfat we have had in Germany. They also gave you free use of the spa/pool but we didn't use either so I can't tell you how that was.
I can't say enough how great this hotel is and can't imagine why they would receive anything below 5 stars!
