“Excellent Food Bavarian ambiance”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 9, 2013 via mobile

We have eaten here several times before and have never been disappointed. Small restaurant with hunting lodge theme. Great variety of Bavarian specialties that are reasonably priced. Nice place to relax and enjoy an excellent meal

“Fantastic”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 4, 2013

Having read reviews we thought we would give this restaurant a go. We are glad we did. The place was very busy and we were asked to wait a few minutes for a table. We were quickly seated sharing a table with another couple.

(There is an etiquette here, you say hello, eat your meal and then say goodbye. We did this at a number of restaurants and never felt put out by it.)

We were given menus in English (and Russian in the same folder) which were clear and well translated.

We both ordered pork knuckle. It came after about 15 mins. It was huge, tender and very tasty. Our only complaint - it was too big, and not wanting to waste such good food it left us with no room for a pudding!

The service was good. 2 people were serving over 30 diners and yet we still felt that our needs were met. We were asked if all was OK with the food, we had to wait about 2 minutes before ordering coffee and possibly another 3 or 4 for the bill.

We intended to go again so we booked our table there and then.

The second visit was no disappointment. A trio of venison on a boletus mushroom sauce. Absolutely fantastic. I commented that a bread knife would have been suitable it was so tender.

I heartily recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants a good, traditional Bavarian meal. I want to go back just to be served food in a frying pan! Book a table to ensure a place. A large number of locals seem to use this place on a regular basis and even have there own tables at certain times.

“Great food and atmosphere”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 31, 2013

Great food and staff. Wound up here after a terrible experience at Zum Wildschutz across the street (I would never set foot in there again) and I'm glad we did. Deer steak, pepper steak, pork with dumplings. All fantastic. Appears to be a favorite of locals which is always a good sign. Complimentary schnapps after dinner as well.

“Bad experience”

The atmosphere looks really good, typically German however the staff were not extremely unhelpful, we cannot speak for the food as we walked out and never went back.

“Great authentic bavarian hospitality”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 7, 2013

The deer schnitzel was absolutely awesome. The service was friendly and professional. The selection of beer is limited, but the overall experience was spotless.
