Cafe Bistro Alexandra has a bright, open, casual atmosphere, with indoor and sidewalk seating. Folding boards tout several economical lunch specials which are inviting for a solo lunch.
At lunch time on a weekday, the dining room was about half filled. I was promptly seated by a helpful waitress. As my German is minimal, she helped further describing advertised dishes in English. I chose a traditional German meal - a boiled sausage with potato salad and a pils beer.
The food arrived quickly. The presentation was simple, but appealing. Both items were quite tasty. The sausage seemed relatively low-fat, as that type of fare goes, and was flavorful without being overly spiced. The potato salad was a bit softer than normally expected, but it was very good.
The waitress returned with the check at a good interval, so I was neither neglected nor rushed.
I would definitiely recommend Bistro Cafe Alexandra for a lunch or casual dinner... And if the lunch experience is any indication, more extensive dining would be worth sampling.
