“Wonderful experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 21, 2013

My husband and I really enjoyed Maxbrau, not only for the food and beer, but also for the experience. The ambiance is cozy, Bavarian, yet modern, with big windows. We sat at the bar, and we got on quite well with the different bartenders. They were friendly and accommodating with our lack of Bavarian German. We stayed until closing both nights, having had our fill of the delicious beer. It was one of the few places that was open late, and that we didn't feel totally weird for getting a little tipsy. We started with the cheese plate, and for dinner, I had the spinach spatzle , and my husband had a crusted pork dish. Both were delicious.

“Pumpkin soup and Goat Cheese Salad!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 6, 2013

If you're going here the appetizer- pumpkin soup; main meal- goat cheese salad; and finally for dessert....the kaiserscharrm are delicious. It doesn't seem like much food, but it's very filling and will be more than enough for any diner. We usually order only one kaiserscharrm for a family of three, it is quite a big dessert, but absolutely worth the 15-20 minute wait, as they make it fresh. They brew their own beer and make beer bread also! This is not the cheapest place in town, but the food is more than worth the price. They have a small play room off to the side to occupy children during the wait. When the weather is nice the terrace is open with a small playground outside also.

“Super food, super service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 5, 2013

Based on posted reviews, I figured I couldn't go wrong - I was right. Unpretentious and delicious. The peppered schweinhaxe was something I had never tasted and it did not disappoint. Alongside this dish was a warm kraut and kartofelen plate which was a tremendous complement. Check it out on your next visit here!

“You should try goat cheese!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 19, 2013

Restaurant is in Maximillian Hotel.
We had dinner at this traditional restaurant.
Prices are not high and taste was wonderful.

You should try goat cheese as starter!!
