“Very good business hotel - lacks wifi internet"”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 27, 2010

I travel to Stuttgart (Vaihingen) for business on a regular basis (approx. once per month for a couple of days) and after having tried out some other hotels, always opt for the Mo.hotel. It has friendly staff, a nice modern design, it is very quiet, has an excellent breakfast and a good restaurant and an small gym/sauna where you can work out and/or relax after work.

The only negative about the hotel is the quality of its wifi internet connection. First of all, there is wifi only in one wing of the building (the part above the reception). If you get a room in the wing above the restaurant, you have to go and sit out in the lobby if you want to connect to wifi. Each time I check in, I ask for a room in the wifi part of the building, but not always they have a room available in that part. For a modern hotel, this is quite unacceptable. Moreover, the hotel does not have its own (free) internet connection, but you need to connect through t-mobile, which offers good service, but against payment. I have the impression though that this is customary in German hotels.

The Mo is a great hotel. Big lobby windows provide lots of natural light. The design is very modern, but classy. The breakfast is the best I've had. The staff were absolutely wonderful, friendly and accomodating. All around, a great place to stay.

When you walk into your room, everything looks clean and modern, but once you start looking in detail, you notice that its just a facade. The furnishing are rather cheap. Everything is quite simple, which may not be a bad thing, but when its cheaply made, then what you're paying doesn't really seem worth it. The towels didn't look white and plush like many of the other hotels we've stayed at. Rather that they were stiff and a little dark in colour. There wasn't anything obvious to show that the room was dirty, however it gave you this feeling that it wasn't very clean. Can't quite put my hand on what it was exactly. Luckily we were only there for one night.

I stayed here for a month when I relocated to Stuttgart. I got a good deal through hotels.com and the hotel was accomodating to my commuting by bicycle every day. The rooms are really modern and ikea'y. I would have liked wireless internet in my room, but I hung out in one of the lobbys with no problems. The restaurant is medium-high priced, but definitely good food. If you can get breakfast included at a good rate, do it. Their spread is huge and varied, if you value breakfast it is worth it. Its closer to Patch than the Pullman, and a bit cheaper I think. Plus being located in the Mall makes food and beer easy, as well as shopping.

The hotel is located in a shopping center which allows access to many shopping options, restaurants and other businesses. The metro station is a short walking distance and the taxi stand is just outside. The location could not be better. It was a good value for the money. The staff was very courteous and helpful. My only disappointment was with the chef/menu. On two occasions I order a fish dish and did not receive the type of fish ordered.
Yes, I would definitely recommend the hotel, aside from the fish incidents.

Booked via Corporate Booking system.
Arrived late Sunday Night, Hotel Recieptionist very accomodating and helpful.
Hotel Clean and efficient.
Rooms very Modern
Massive Showers.
Beds not the most comfortable Ive slept on, but room was pleasant.
Below the hotel, is a shopping centre that has a reasonable selection of shops / places to eat and there are a few Banks / ATM's close by.

Hotel food very limited, but bar staff do their best to raise a smile.

Taxi's arranged every day and always sent off / greeted back by the recieption staff with a smile.
Breakfast continental and as you would expect.

Lack of coke / drinks vending machines for out of hours snackers
Total of 5 nights spent at the hotel and when im back in the area on Buisness, this will be my number one choice of places to stay.

Will take photo's and post before I leave

  • Liked — very minimalistic
  • Disliked — large drops with minimal barriers giving the minimalistic futuristic modern view.

My secreatary made a confirmed reservation with this hotel through a corporate travel agent. The reservation was guaranteed.

I arrived at the hotel to be told by the reception clerk that though I held a guaranteed reservation, there was no room for me.

The desk staff offered no explanation except that a mistake had been made. This was not discovered as I arrived. They knew I was coming and the hotel management (apparently) made no attempt to contact me.

They said they had made a reservation at a similar class hotel and put me in a cab to go there.

Not only was their booking completely inappropriate (It was a smoking room rather than a non-smoking room, in a hotel some distance away), but the staff actually sent me to the wrong place, which required me to walk quite far with heavy luggage.

Unacceptable. Unprofessional. Incompetent.

I shudder to think how this hotel would behave if you were a guest and had a special request, or, god forbid, an emergency. If I could be treated this way when my reservation was placed on behalf of my client, one of Stuttgart's (and Germany's) most important businesses, I cannot imagine how a poor independent traveller might be treated.

I repeat: unacceptable, unprofessional, incompetent.
