“good atmosphere and excellent rooms”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 8, 2014

Stayed here 3 nights after I stayed at the V8 Hotel. The Staff was friendly and helped me out with the booking of my train ticket. My room (Kusamakura), they all have own names, was pretty cool and spacious. I had a glimpse into 2 other rooms on my floor they are all very different and look well designed. Location is good, 5 minutes walk to the "Königstrasse". The Hotel is pretty small, there is no real Bar, just a small restaurant. Breakfast is very good.

We stayed in the Titanic Room, with waterbed, portholes, two sinks and fancy bath. There were some very nice touches - a praline, candles, slippers, MP3 player connection, a rotating TV, jogging map and dumbbell. The bed was extremely comfortable and a great experience - a bucket list item ticked off - though I was a bit sore the next morning which is probably normal. Definitely worth it! The air con was technically in the bathroom but did the trick, the room was big and very temperate. It was quiet outside, though we could hear other guests' keys and some slight creaky floors.

Downsides are that wi-fi and breakfast aren't free, and it's not an accessible hotel - there are stairs, but also porters who brought up our luggage. And this was yet another place with old-fashioned twisty keys with which we had a bit of trouble. Fortunately it wasn't late at night as there isn't 24 hour reception.

I stayed at the Zauberlehrling with my 13 year-old son en route from the Nurnburgring to Maranello. We just stayed for one night and arrived fairly exhausted having been on the road for 11 hours. The hotel is a little gem in a side street in the centre of Stuttgart. Everything about the place is enchanting and being used to franchised business hotels this was breath of fresh air. It didn't hurt that we were upgraded immediately to the Media Suite in the "annex". Check in was fine and the way it should be. Friendly and polite. The car was parked in the garage.
The Media Suite itself was super. A sizeable living room with a wonderfully quirky interior. The bathroom and shower were huge, modern and wonderfully finished.
The double bedded bedroom had a projector rather than a TV and the overall impression was exactly what you expect from a boutique / design hotel.
Breakfast was literally made to measure for us and was just what we needed.

Room Tip: If it fits your budget go for the suite !

centrally located with affordable parking, free internet and very good breakfast. The small team was very friendly and hospitable. The various rooms are very nicely individually designed. I can truly recommend this hotel without hesitation

Room Tip: recomendation: Room Titanic with waterbed :)

This hotel has amazing rooms. I've never seen hotelrooms like that. I stayed there 4 nights in the Black Box room and had the chance to have a look in the other rooms. Each room is different. I love that.
Staff was friendly, no parkingspots on the street but they have a garage. Breakfast costs extra - if you want more than a croissant and coffee. The buffet was excellent and fresh. Clean room and good facillities.

Room Tip: Have a look on the website. Each room is different ....

The zauberlehrling is located in one of the older parts of the city, but still very near to the heart. (5minutes walk).
The staff is welcoming and the rooms, i have seen 2 of them, vary from smaller "businessman" rooms to large suites. My room was very clean an comfortable with a large shower, coffeemachine, safe, minibar, telephon, musicplayer, hdtv and many small extras like a personal welcoming card or free water and pralines.
The breakfastbuffet give s you for extra money a large sortiment of fruits, juices, yoghurt, bread, cheese, cereals, fresh eggs, pancakes and hot beverages.
