We visited the Diogenes Tavern on the first of a four night city break in Stuttgart and enjoyed a fabulous evening. The restaurant is small and intimate with typical Greek themes, seating perhaps just twenty four diners. The portions were large and the food excellent. The staff, I suspect, were all of the same family and for one evening we felt almost a part of their family. Although they didn’t speak English we got along fine with our basic German. There were only around a dozen diners on our visit and we were allowed to occupy the table for several hours and enjoyed several glasses of wine, long after we finished eating. The menu isn’t extensive but everything we ate was very good. For starters we had bean soup and feta salad and for main we both ate chicken souvlaki served with fries, bread and a generous side salad in a separate bowl. The bill came under fifty Euros, including two jugs of wine and two large beers. The restaurant is on the periphery of the city centre maybe 100 metres from “Olgaeck” metro station. We would be happy to recommend this restaurant to other travellers and will visit again if we return to Stuttgart. Thanks to the staff for a lovely evening
