“Best hotel we've stayed at in Stuttgart.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 20, 2013

We often visit Stuttgart to meet up with relations who live there. These days we usually travel by train and this hotel is very close to the station, one of our favourite buildings in the city, the modification of which is causing much local controversy! Don't be put off by the approach to the hotel through an unattractive shopping precinct, the main part of the hotel looks on to the park.We found our room comfortable and the staff were very good. There is a very pleasant outside restaurant/cafe/bar that ajoins the park.We will stay here again next year, we slightly prefer it to the Zeppelin and the Arcotel Camino which are also very good..

Room Tip: our room looked on to the park and was very pleasant

At first glance not such a nice place. But room, view, food and service made this a true 5 star experience. It is not so easy to find a hotel with a direct park view in Stuttgart. Rooms are very modern and quiet. The breakfast buffet is excellent as is the service.

Room Tip: try and get a room with park view.

Great hotel for shopping in Stuttgart as it is right next to the main street of shops and walking distance to many boutiques. We arrived by train, and chose this hotel for that convenience. My husband has stayed here before on business trips and recommended that we stay here again. Not disappointed as the staff were friendly and helpful, the room was huge, bed comfortable and bathroom spacious - all clean and well kept in the old gracious European style. So, not modern decor but very comfortable. We ate at the cafe and the food was good but not outstanding. Breakfast was very good. However, one evening we had dinner at the Bernhard Diers restaurant, sitting on the upstairs terrace overlooking the public gardens. Wow, what a great meal, one of the best on our trip - don't miss the chance to eat there if you can. In all, a very nice hotel and would be very happy to stay again.

4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 18, 2013

The hotel is a bit older, smaller, and dated than I expected from the website, and it wasn't luxury (as in five-star hotel lux--perhaps the suites are great, but a true luxury hotel is all lux, even the regular rooms.) That said, location is very good--downtown, access to public trams, trains, and major roadways--and the service is excellent, both by hotel and restaurant staff. My room was a "superior" room, which had corner views of park, train station, and vineyards (some construction, too, but the hotel was there first). The room was good sized though furnishings are dated (but fine), and the bathrooms were huge. Now, my co-workers must have gotten the lower room and complained about room and bath size, though they don't travel much and are not accustomed to European hotels. The best was the value, though--3-for-1 rated which made each night under $200, which is awesome. I would probably stay again, but I would equally try other hotels in the area.

Upon arriving at the station across the road, this hotel is in a perfect location to access transport and other services. Staff are very attentive from the outset. Food is excellent and room service very polite. Room was impeccable and a pleasure to stay in. Well worth the stay and I will definitely stay again. Well done.

We have visited Stuttgart many times but this was our first time staying at the Schlossgarten Hotel. It felt like home. The staff couldn't have been more helpful, friendly and warm. Our room was lovely with a view of the park at the back of the hotel. Location is perfect...just across from the train station. A highlight was breakfast! Beautiful buffet - seating choices...outside on the patio or inside with a view. Lovely.
Highly recommend!

A modernized old building.....decent hotel....nothing special! Overpriced! Clean room and very nice bathroom. Very bad restaurant, not so good breakfast! The staff was really sweet and helpful and the location is perfect! Overall not bad, but not my choice if I ever visit Stuttgart.

Room Tip: Try a room with a view to the station.
