“4-5 Train Stops From Civilization”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed November 2, 2013

I booked the Brita based on its availability, pricing and availability of parking, but primarily based on its supposed location within Stuttgart.

While the hotel may be technically within city limits, it is in a suburb at the far end of the Stuttgart city limits. To go downtown get on the nearby S train (the hotel provides a free subway pass) and take the train for 4 or 5 stops.

Breakfast was excellent, rooms functional, the staff pleasant, and parking reasonably priced.

This hotel is in a fairly nice area with shopping and restaurants nearby, and the room was very clean and breakfast was good. However, the decor is dated, the bed was hard and apparently there's no A/C - it was quite hot when we visited, so we opened the windows, but there was so much noise from traffic, voices, church bells, sirens, etc. that it was difficult to sleep. The staff is helpful and friendly, but not overly so. The parking garage is small and it was not easy to park our large car there. The bathroom is tiny. If I were to return, I would probably look for another hotel, but if nothing else was available, I'd be OK staying here again.

Room Tip: I'm not sure if there are any rooms that don't face the busy street, but if there are, I wou...

Stayed at that Hotel for some weeks due to work @ Daimler Mettingen.

The price called at the reception (155€ p.P./night) is ridiculous.

Booking via telephone gave 90 € p.P./night, including 9€ breakfast onto the invoice.
The Internet Access was around 18 € per 6 days - very uncomfortable to use with multiple devices (no logout function so to get online with your table/phone and your computer you have to wait at least 10 minutes with the wifi antenna switched off).
The breakfast was good.

The staff was okay, and service orientated.

The room I got was a double room for a single person, so I was lucky regarding the size, a colleague got a real single room - for the same price, which was not much bigger then the (small) bed.
So his stay was worse than mine.

Shower had no solid separation between the shower and the hair dryer-that is life risking, the shower curtain is sticking to your back-that is disgusting.
If you're unlucky like me with a room windows to the road: people behave there like onto the autobahn.

Overall an acceptable place to stay in a very expensive area of germany, the topping: a ticket for the public transportation system is a nice to have - if you're using it.

We recently vacationed in Stuttgart and found the Brita Hotel to be a very convenient location for travels througout the Stuttgart area. The location is very convenient to the train station and the complimentary hotel train pass made for a great way to see the various sights around the area. In fact, we didn't even use our automobile during our stay.

The accomodations are very clean and comfortable and the staff was always pleasant. The complimentary breakfast in the morning was quite extensive and provided all of us what we needed for a good meal prior to starting our day.

In addition to the many Christmas Markets in the area, we took the opportunity to spend a day at the Porsche and Mercedes-Benz museums. With the ease of hopping the train to these locations, I would highly recommend these two museums if you are at all interested in automobiles.

The Brita is a little bit on the outskirts of Stuttgart but very close to tram and train services so convenient to get into the centre. Although the restaurant wasn’t open when I visited there is a very good Italian just across the road, also close by is a small supermarket. The bar area lacks a bit of atmosphere but the beer was good which I guess is only to be expected in Germany! Parking is available but I parked on the street without any problem. The rooms are basic but ok for the price, one down side would be that the lift is between floors on a kind of landing level so small set of stairs has to be negotiated which could be problematic for someone with walking disabilities. Although WiFi was chargeable it was only €4 for 24 hours. The hotel is just a 10 minute drive from the Mercedes Benz museum and also the Porsche and Mercedes Arena’s.

My first time in Germany and I could not have been happier than at the Brita Hotel. This hotel is CLEAN and the staff are friendly and helpful. Located almost across the street from the train station it is a convenient 20 mins by train to the city center in Stuttgart. There are good restaurants and a nice grocery store literally seconds across the parking lot. The breakfast is OUTSTANDING. I felt safe and welcome here, and enjoyed my walks around Oberturkheim. There are great little towns such as Esslingen and Kirchheim if you're willing to get on the train and explore down the line a little bit. If you haven't been to Europe before, as an American you will be surprised by the decor of a European hotel, but the rooms are spacious and clean and have everything you need. The only thing I missed was a facecloth.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on the courtyard, not the street.

This hotel is very close to the train station and the bus station which makes it very convenient. The folks at the lobby, restaraunt, and bar were very friendly, helpful, and had good English speaking skills. My stay was good, and it was in a nice area.

I had to travel by train to a work destination which was easy to navigate. The train system in Germany is very good, and easy to get around. This hotel provides you with a free pass which is good for all trains and busses. I was told to get to the hotel by train, but took the bus instead. The bus drivers did not speak English, but a friendly passenger helped me get to my destination. It seemed that all the under 45 folks speak English very well and are willing to help foreign visitors.

This hotel was good, my only complaint was the shower in the bathroom. The whole bathroom was the shower, so the bathroom floor was wet afterwords. The water went all over the bathroom floor. This may be a minor inconvenience to some. They need to slope the floor towards the drain, so the whole bathroom floor is not wet after a shower.

If you go, Upper Esslingen (Ubereslingen or Neckar) is a very nice place to visit. It's just a couple of train stops away. They have fine restaraunts such as the Einhorn and nice historic buildings which are 1200 years old. This town is very charming, they have lots of festivals and a great market on Saturday. I stopped by to see the market, and had a good time with free samples!

I would like to go back again, it's a nice area. Took the train to the Mercedes Benz museum in Stuttgart which was fantastic, a must see. The restaraunt across the street is great, called VHB. Take the train to Stuttgart which has nice plazas and shopping. Public transportation is easy, just bring a map. No problem if you don't speak German.
