We found the Ibis Stuttgart to be a nice overnight stop. Clean and modern, it had a more "American" hotel feel to it. We had a triple room (if you've traveled with a child or children in Europe, you'll know the drill). It was pleasantly appointed and roomy for this type of hotel. We had dinner in the restaurant (the hotel is not near eateries and is not in the downtown area). We had a very nice meal (typical food like schnitzel with spaetzle) and the service was very pleasant. The restaurant prices were very reasonable.

This Ibis is of the quality expected of the chain. The building and room are modern and well managed. The area is a little cold as it is business park. The plus is that neighborhood is quiet in the evening. There didn't seem to be any restaurants in the area. Downtown is accessible the U-Bahn. The stop is about a block away, and it easy to ride with frequent trains. Parking is available in the hotel garage, easy access. The breakfast is buffet style with a good selection. I arrived late and ate at the bar. The Caesar salad was better than expected for a hotel restaurant.

Ibis stuttgart serves all your basic needs well. It has a clean bed, towels and bathroom. But the minute you enter the room you know that they are saving costs on everything. Rooms are pretty small. But like I said, it's clean and quiet and the bed is comfortable. We stayed there three nights. When we were checking in we were informed the breakfast is served close to the lobby, so we asked if it was included in the tariff. The receptionist said yes. We were happy about that until we saw the bill on our way out - we were charged 10 Euros per head for breakfast. We did enjoy the breakfast so we paid but felt a little disappointed since we were misinformed. Could just be the language barrier. It is close to the city centre about a 35 minute walk or a 3 stop subway ride. If it's a short stay you're planning it's not a bad place to stay in.
