“Traditional German Food in a cosy setting”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 15, 2015

Keller”s is a cosy stubli style restaurant tucked away in a quiet corner of the north quadrat. They sell traditional German/Pfalzish food. I had smoked salmon with a glass of prosecco to start followed by a delicious plate of sour kidneys chopped in a sauce and served with spatzle. My wife had the smoked salmon and rosti. Wine by the glass is very reasonable and they have a great selection. They have all the usual German staples schnitzel tafel spitz etc as well. On a Wednesday night it was still pretty busy so I would recommend booking a table. A meal for 2 four glasses of wine 40 euros good value we thought.

“Typical old german restaurant”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 24, 2014

The area the restaurant was located in was a bit out of the way, and it was unfortunate that the restaurant seemed to be out of the choices we were after. However the food was good, as was the beer

“Great german food, atmosphere great but watch where you sit if having a good time!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 19, 2013

We went for a late lunch/brunch on a Sunday. Food was great and good value for the money. Atmosphere - lots of wood and rustic looking (even though in the middle of the city). Wines were excellent!!

Restaurant did not smell of smoke so that is great!

The only down side - we were loud - talking and laughing and an older German lady pretty much told us to Shut Up.... so if having a good time, pick a table away from the older locals.

“Experience in German dining”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 24, 2013

We found this restaurant by chance on a rainy Sunday morning when the streets were deserted. True to form, we were greeted by a rotund German lady beaming with hospitality. Though she spoke only german, we managed to order our food from a decent menu.

On our waitress' recommendation, I chose a reisling from a local vineyard, and it was delightful.

The restaurant started to fill out by 12:30 pm, mostly locals.

I had the roast beef, which was nice.

“Local cuisine, smoke!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 7, 2013 via mobile

The restaurant serves local cuisine in decent quality, and they have interesting daily specials. The quality of the food is average. They have a smoking room with an open door, so the whole restaurant smells of smoke. If you do not mid, you will enjoy the cosy atmosphere.
