“Trendy Hotel with Good Service close to Train Station”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 16, 2013

This hotel was steps from the train station and convenient to everything in the area. The front desk was efficient and gracious. They gave us passes to the Tram and told us how to get to our destinations - take the tram to Heidelberg, it is 45 minutes and you get to see Mannheim. Take the train back from Heidelberg, it is 25 minutes and runs every 30 minutes. Wow how efficient! Very modern, smaller rooms, but way cool overall. Perfect for our trip to Mannheim via train. Room overlooked the city and not the tracks, so we had no problem with noise.

Stayed for one night on a quick business trip to Mannheim. Overall, an excellent experience.

Spotless, brand new, somewhat modest (by North American standards) room. Decent-sized bathroom with shower. Fridge with minibar. Quiet, despite location near train station and trams. Nice bonus: a transit pass for the duration of your stay -- and with the city's excellent tram system, I didn't have to take a single cab. Friendly, helpful front desk staff; no trouble getting detailed directions, or an iron and ironing board brought up to the room. No trouble printing documents at guest computer in front lobby.

Negatives: Internet was an extortionate 14 euros for 24 hours. (Come on - in this day and age?) Breakfast, too, was ridiculously expensive for a modest buffet. (But hey, the client was paying and I didn't have time to go elsewhere.) And the towels in the room reminded me of Eastern Europe circa 1991: small, thin, scratchy, and few in number. Really? You're better than that, InterCityHotel.

These are relatively minor quibbles, though. For cleanliness and convenience, this place can't be beat.

We stayed here for one night at the beginning of a Treyn holiday. It is close - but unlike Ulm not too close- to the station and there was no issue with noise. The room was large and well furnished with a comfortable bed and very efficient shower. Despite our late arrival - after 10pm the meal provided was very good as was breakfast, with almost too much choice!! We would certainly stay here again and it was a pity that Ulm was used and not this one on the return journey - see review.

This hotel was very close to the main railway station however my room which overlooked the main square was extremely quiet because of the very thick glazing. The female Receptionist on arrival was somewhat abrupt and did not give a good first impression however I found the males in the morning on check out, much more friendly and helpful. The room was smallish but very well appointed with good air conditioning and facilities. Only problem was that internet was not free. This was the only hotel in the 6 I stayed throughout Germany, Switzerland and France where the internet was at a charge.

Room Tip: As before, no noise invaded my room even though without the glazing it would have been in the noisie...

Hotel location excellent, right beside the station. Reception staff very efficient and helpful. Bedroom modern, clan, spacious. Bathroom a bit tight but contained all the required equipment. Breakfast very good with lots of choice.

I can't really fault the hotel in any respect. Overall it was a very satisfactory business hotel.

Rooms are large and clean, furnitures are new, breakfast is nice and the location is great.

Front desk is very helpful and the free provided during-stay tram ticket was a bless.

l recommend this hotel for anyone having a business trip to Mannheim.

I have seen most of the business hotels in Mannheim and would rank Intercity number 1. Do not be afraid of the noise, windows are thick, noise is mainly non-existent. I stayed in a corner room facing the square right before the main station and was not disturbed at all. Infact it was great looking at the vivid city from the 7th floor. :)
Rooms are excellent, brand new, plain and modern design. Breakfast is normal, no surprises.
Double check your invoice before leaving the hotel, I received two invoices and both were issued with errors, so now I have to get the invoices corrected to get them reimbursed and it is no fun from a distance.
