“Great place to stay in Heidelberg”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 26, 2014

Me and my wife spent a few days in Heidelberg and this hotel is very strategically placed just outsite the Main Train Station of Heidelberg, which was perfect since we only had to carry our luggage for a few meters. The staff there was very kind and helpfull, giving us all sorts of information about the town and how to reach the touristic places (which weren't close to the station). We would grab a bus a few times to visit the town, but most of the time we would woulk through the city from the hotel (although it can be tiring if you are not used to walking a lot, it's definetly worth it since Heidelgerb is such a pretty city). Also close to the hotel you can find many different restaurants.

Room Tip: The rooms at the railroad side have very good acoustic insulation, after spending 4 nights there I o...

The location of this hotel is good, just like the other ibis, near Hbf. The room is surprisingly small. Luckily me and my roommate are small size. Can't imagine those big guys, how could they squeeze themselves into such tiny space, especially the bathroom.
It is very clean, the breakfast is simple but of good quality. Far away from old town, nothing but Hbf near by. But there is bus station with walking distance.

Room Tip: never mind, every room i think is quite small

We picked the hotel as we had positive expectations of ibis and it was so close to the train station. We usually visit the area we are seeing on foot, unfortunately we found the hotel is around a half an hour walk from the centre which we didn't realise and meant we rarely went out at night.

The hotel was lovely, clean and modern (standard for an ibis). Clean bedding and towels were given. We were on the third floor and the wifi wasn't great at all, it rarely worked and we ended up sitting in reception if we needed to use it.

We didn't try the breakfast as we felt it was expensive. There are many places in the train station selling food. There aren't many resturants around and ended up having currywurst, baguettes or Burger King at night.

The price and quality of this hotel is great however if we came to Heidelberg again we would definitely try to get somewhere more central.

The location and free WIFI are a plus at this IBIS. We checked-in late coming from France and wanting to get some time in this historic town. We arrived by train and mostly walked or used the trams from the historic area. The room prices are very reasonable and the rooms are clean. They advertise free WIFI but it may only be available in the lobby. Our room was next to the lobby and we had no problems with the WIFI. We did not buy the breakfast add-on and went to the historic area to eat. There is a great restaurant next door to the hotel that leads into the train station. They will also hold your bags after check out at no charge. Great hotel...will stay again when returning to Heidelberg.

This hotel is almost literally at the main Heidelberg train station very near the trams which go to the old city center. It is similar to most Ibis; clean, modern and functional. The optional (€10pp) was better than most we had in Europe. The café staff, housekeeping and most at reception were pleasant and helpful. This hotel seemed a bit pricey for the area. There are some hotels within a couple with lesser prices. However, due to a busy schedule, we were unable to check them out.

This one in particular is probablynot inferior to many 3 stars Hotels I went. Rooms are small but modern and clean. Free wifi rounds up the offer.
Only the breakfast, even if good, is too expensive: 10 Euro are definetely too much for a continental breakfast. In our opinion it should be around 8 Euro
