“Decent hotel in a great town”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 8, 2014

The location and free WIFI are a plus at this IBIS. We checked-in late coming from France and wanting to get some time in this historic town. We arrived by train and mostly walked or used the trams from the historic area. The room prices are very reasonable and the rooms are clean. They advertise free WIFI but it may only be available in the lobby. Our room was next to the lobby and we had no problems with the WIFI. We did not buy the breakfast add-on and went to the historic area to eat. There is a great restaurant next door to the hotel that leads into the train station. They will also hold your bags after check out at no charge. Great hotel...will stay again when returning to Heidelberg.

This hotel is almost literally at the main Heidelberg train station very near the trams which go to the old city center. It is similar to most Ibis; clean, modern and functional. The optional (€10pp) was better than most we had in Europe. The café staff, housekeeping and most at reception were pleasant and helpful. This hotel seemed a bit pricey for the area. There are some hotels within a couple with lesser prices. However, due to a busy schedule, we were unable to check them out.

This one in particular is probablynot inferior to many 3 stars Hotels I went. Rooms are small but modern and clean. Free wifi rounds up the offer.
Only the breakfast, even if good, is too expensive: 10 Euro are definetely too much for a continental breakfast. In our opinion it should be around 8 Euro

Reserved via accorhotels.com and stayed at mid November, 2013. We've got a welcome drink coupon for two as a platinum member. For room, everything was as expected. Cosy room and small shower booth but nothing to complain. Bed was comfortable and you can make the room quite warm. Easy access to McDonalds, cafe, and small markets inside the station. Parking lot looked like limited for 10 cars or so (with ibis logo). Anyhow, It was free ( ^^ ). 5 min drive for the main tour attractions. Overall good for the short sightseeing of Heidelberg with a car.

Room Tip: Many options to eat if you can walk 1 min.

As a smoking hotel, I expected the place to have a light odour of smoke, but the whole hotel reeked of smoke.

The breakfast was minimal to say the least, standard buffet fare but no warm food.

The staff were generally friendly, but luck of the draw whether you'd speak to the friendly ones or not.

The bathroom looked straight on to the parking lot and though I wasn't looking for a room with a view, frosted glass would have gone a long way to making the cramped shower cubical, with poor sealing (thus leaked all over the bathroom) more tolerable without the thought that someone outside could easily see in...

Was here last June had booked this hotel cause it was just outside the station rooms are ok price are alright have fast food giants mc Donald's and a few cafes around in all for the price and location only but for a few more euros you will get a better hotel.

Room Tip: Rooms facing the roads are better bet
