“Pleasant stopover en route to Switzerland.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 26, 2013

Very pleasant and comfortable reasonably priced hotel. Rooms modern and bed comfortable. Staff friendly. Breakfast buffet fresh and plentiful with good choice. Didn't use restaurant so unable to comment. Underground secure parking was available, but at the expensive cost of €17.

We really liked this hotel and felt welcome from the minute we stepped in the door. The room was comfortable and our only complaint was that we didn`t have a safe. You could put your valuables in a safety deposit box at reception but that isn`t handy. The hotel was near the beginning of the very long pedestrian precinct and there were plenty of cafes around. We walked right to the end of the pedestrian area but then went down to the river and got on a bus which took us back to the hotel door. Parking in the hotel garage cost around 18 Euros per night. We will probably return to pretty Heidelberg one day and would be quite happy to stay in this hotel again.

We enjoyed a lovely stay here in 95 degree heat. The air conditioning was a life saver after some hard sightseeing.
Large comfortable rooms, excellent location, 10 mins to the aldstadt.
Shame that the breakfast is so expensive, plenty of cheaper options nearby. Wifi should not be chaegeable.

Luckily I checked AlyxPD's review as we'd booked the the wrong Leonardo hotel. This was a one night stop and proved more than adequate: the receptionist was very friendly and helpful, the room was spacious and clean, and the secure garage perfect if a little expensive at 17 euros. We didn't bother with the expensive breakfast as there are loads of cafes around to eat at a fraction of the price. The only downside was that the air con wasn't very effective.

Make sure you go to the right Leonardo Hotel. Heidelberg has two. This one is a beautiful building right in the middle of town. It's walking distance from the river and walking distance from the main shopping area and Schloss Heidelberg. My room was located in the front, so I had a lovely view of the street. Decent continental breakfast. One negative-- the weight room is just that-- a room smaller than a hotel room, with only three pieces of equipment inside of it.

Room Tip: The rooms in the front have either a private balcony or access to a balcony next to the elevator.

This was a one night stop for us on our European vacation. We walked from here to the castle and the main pedestrian area. There were no major complaints, Except that the breakfast was 18 euro each if you choose to eat there. There are so many deli/bakery places right outside this hotel that it would be a shame to settle for an overpriced hotel breakfast. Other than that, the staff was nice, we didnt have any issues with noise level, or cleanliness.

This hotel is not by most standards a four or five star hotel. The room was a little small and the bathroom had something to be desired, but the location - just five minutes from the old city and walking street - and service of the staff made it worth returning to. The hotel is an easy one stop on a city bus from the train station, which saves the traveler 10 Euro for a taxi. One can either walk to the Altstadt (an easy stroll) or catch a bus and drop off at Bismarck Platz. Breakfast was excellent and we chose to sit outside one cool morning in the garden. The staff are attentive and very helpful to get around.

Room Tip: Get a room that overlooks the main street and buy a day pass for the bus and tram
