We had lunch in the oldest restaurant of the town, the only one which survived destruction at the end of the 17th century. The atmosphere was very pleasant and impressive, and also the service was impeccable. We ordered aspargus with ham for lunch and were a bit disappointed, as some of the aspargus served whole were more al dente than soft boiled. The wine selection is great and the recommended white wine was delicious. We had probably expected a bit too much from this restaurant which is also mentioned in the Guide Michelin. Still, if you want to get classic German food, you might enjoy the place, but there are better restaurants to be found in Heidelberg.
