“Great Service and Food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 15, 2012

After touring the waterfall on a rainy Sunday, we stopped in this restaurant for dinner. We surprised it was open and not crowded at all. It was very clean and not a speck of dirt on the lamp or windowsill. German decor. The waiter was friendly and spoke some English. There was very little wait for our dinner. I had the goulash and the others had half chicken meal or schnitzel with vegetables. Afterwards we had a slice of black forest cake. Everything was reasonably priced. The restrooms was clean. Definitely would eat here again.

“Try the Wild Boar”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 1, 2012 via mobile

Enjoyed a hearty, tasty meal there after a rainy cold walk up and back down the waterfall. The wild boar with red cabbage, poached pear, and dumpling was fabulous. My husband had the venison saddle which was also good but a bit too well-done. Staff spoke good English and were welcoming. Atmosphere was typical of the area - warm, inviting, light woods, gingham fabrics. Will eat there again on next visit.

“Wow! Hearty German yumminess!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 11, 2012

I admit when we first saw this place it screamed tourist trap but it was fantastic! Good service, great food and an excellent atmosphere. The puddings are amazing!

“No cuckoo clocks inside”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 19, 2012

After eating here, I then read the reviews here on Tripadvisor and was surprised at some of the negative comments. We went on a Monday night in March so there weren't many people eating at the time. We appreciated being able to order and converse in German with our waiter (and locals) since so many other places we have visited automatically speak to us in English.

We went for dinner and my wife had Filettöpfle and I had Sauerbraten. Both dishes were good and there was plenty of food on our plates. We didn't have any room in our stomachs for dessert so we will stop before leaving town to have some.
