“Black Forest self-guided tour”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 10, 2013

It was my first time in Germany and visiting the black forest. We just did a day trip to the area, and didn't follow the guide that much as we felt it would be too rushed, so we only went to Triberg. It would be good if we had a more detailed map of Triberg to help us get around, but it was still okay. The recommendations on where to get the black forest cake and cuckoo clocks were good! The tour saves a lot of time on research and it's helpful as there's also not much information about the Black Forest in English available online.

Hi Candice - thanks for the feedback! I agree that more maps can be helpful. There are basic overview maps included in the tour description already. But now I will update the tours per your suggestion and include detailed street maps of Triberg, Titisee and other towns mentioned. Each tour contains a lot of information and it can be difficult to see everything mentioned in one day. Therefore I recommend reading through the tour before the actual visit so you can choose and pick what sights you definitely want to see and which ones to skip. Thanks for the input! Hope to see you again in the Black Forest one day - Simone

“Black Forest Private Tours”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 25, 2013

We are from Australia and wanted to spend time in the Black Forest. We were only using public transport and wanted to know how to travel around the area. We did the Black Forest Railway and Cuckoo Clock and the Hell's Valley to Heaven Self Guided Tours. The information was very clear and detailed and we saw everything that we wanted to. We found we needed to read the information carefully and at times had to make choices about where we wanted to go as the tours included so much. The timetables were very useful and accurate. Lake Titisee was lovely and the train trip was very interesting. We really enjoyed Triberg and the Farmhouse Museum was a highlight. We spent a lot of time there. The tours were very flexible and easy to follow. We stayed in Friberg and Simone included a Walking Tour of Friberg which was excellent. I would highly recommend these tours.

“A Terrific Way to See the Black Forest!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 24, 2013

We spend 2 full days with Simone and wish we had 2 or 3 more. Simone is an excellent guide: professional, very knowlegeable, completely flexible and a great person to spend a few days with. As a native, she, of course, knows all of the places you are unlikely to find on your own. We saw everything from wineries, to rushing waterfalls, to a cuckoo clock factory all the while driving across some of the most beautiful areas we've ever seen. We were very impressed that Simone worked diligently before and during the tour to assure that we saw what interested us.. to tailor our route and stops so that we covered our key interests. Simone is a genuinely nice person, easy to talk to... We look forward to coming back for a wine hike next fall!

“A very comprehensive guide for day trips in the Black Forest region”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 12, 2013

This is my first time to the black forest region and I was kinda lost, didn't had much idea of where to explore and how to travel by public transport to the places of interest. The guide is very comprehensive and it saves a lot of time researching. It would be exceptionally helpful to people who doesn't know where to begin their research or those who want a well planned trip yet with flexibility.

Due to bad weather during my trip, i did not manage to do all the activities that were suggested. But I do doubt that I will be able to finish them all even if the weather is good. There is just too much to explore.

“Our Black Forest Tour.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 11, 2013

We reached Baden Baden on a train from Frankfurt, to be greeted with a very warm welcome, by our assigned guide Ms Simone. We were six and Simone had organized just the right vehicle for us. She knew the places very well, took us shopping for cuckoo clocks & souvenirs. The highlight of the tour which had many memorable moments, was when she took three of us (non-veg's) to a restaurant that served us an exotic lunch with wild boar!! I am really going to cherish this experience for a very long time.......
