“A nice stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 10, 2009

This hotel is just beside the train station. It's very convenient for exploring the blackforest area with the train service. The hotel is elegant and clean. The staffs were very friendly and helpful. They offer their guests quest cards which grants free transportation in town. The only drawback was the noise. As it's very close to the train station, even with the windows shut, the noise was still loud. Overall, we enjoyed our stay in this hotel.

As is written in other reviews, the only fault I have with this hotel is the lack of air conditioning. We did have a fan in the room which helped, but it was still a bit too warm for people from our climate to sleep comfortably. The breakfast cost about 12 Euro each and while a little expensive for breakfast, there was a great choice. Included with out accommodation were free passes for the public transport system of the city. At first we didn't think this was much addition, until we discovered that one of the main tram stations was close to the front of the hotel. We made good use of this to quickly get to the center of the old town. The hotel had a quite bar and two fast lifts. There is subsidised underground parking very close by. A great tourist hotel.

There is nothing wrong about the hotel. it is right at the central train station and a mere five mintue walk from the city. The rooms are clean but small and they have NO (!!!) air condition. In particular the rooms facing south are more like a sauna. The desk ventilator in your room hardly has any effect.
In general the hotel is too expensive for its standard and the discount they grant for the nearby parking garage does not change this impression.

Trainspotters: ask for a room overlooking the station and transport interchanges and you can pretend that you have gone to heaven and are now in charge of the world's best model train set. It will provide hours of fascination from the windows, even for non-enthusiasts like me, as escalators escalate, trains roll, trams interconnect, bikes disappear in all directions, cathedral bells ring, windmills turn, lightening streaks the sky...... The hotel is built almost directly on the station in this amazing town with its incredible public transport and bike links to everywhere. Free trams for tourists depart almost from the doorstep. The hotel had other good features too one of which was the breakfast buffet including Bircher-muesli. It is clearly a purpose built hotel with all expected facillities and a mini-bar which we resisted but used as a handy fridge. The only irritating features are the architect's diagonal lines, which eat into the otherwise useful corners of the room, and create unnecessary pinch points. It can be noisy with the window open, but don't let these minor niggles prevent you from enjoying the best free show in town.
The people who were in Room 61-0. (Train enthusiasts will spot the reference!)

This is a standard hotel. Clean, with the facilities you'd expect. Soulless - yes; but at least reliable and without annoying quirks. The beds were comfortable.

It's very conveniently situated for rail travelers, being right by the station and within a short walk from the town centre. Breakfast is not included, but can be paid for extra (quite expensive) or bought very cheaply from the station downstairs. Some free newspapers are available.

The staff were very kind to let our two friends, with whom we were traveling but who had stayed elsewhere, leave their luggage with ours in the store room until our train was due.

There isn't very much to say about this hotel, but that's probably a good thing! Although it's not gushingly wonderful, there are no complaints. I'd stay there again.
