“Good location but will be good if the room has AC and free wifi”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 11, 2013 via mobile

The hotel is conveniently located just next to the Freiburg Hbf. Room size is standard and very clean with daily housekeeping services. While being next to the Hbf gives you the convenience, the fact that the room doesnt have AC means you need to open the window. So naturally you will hear the trains arriving and departing as we'll as the occasional announcement. I am a light sleeper however wasn't very much affected over the 4 nights I stayed with them.

Staff are friendly to answer all your questions. There are several eating places around the hotel. Wok n Go which is just on the left corner of the hotel serves quite nice wok fried food, but sure not try. The shops are opened very early in the morning so you can grab some German bread at the train station too. The Deutsche Bahn counter staff are very helpful and speaks English. There are also self help machines though be mindful that the machine only dispense coins as change when you buy the tickets. The supermarket opens till ard 9pm while the pharmacy closes pretty early. Overall, a good location to get the essentials and travel around Germany and parts of Switzerland.

Hotel gives free transport card for travelling on the trams and buses. All trams goes to the old town from the bridge. Just 2 stops away.

The airport shuttle from EuroAirport stops directly outside the hotel and 1 way ticket costs €25, while return ticket costs €40. Do indicate to the driver when you board the bus. Otherwise from the airport, the shuttle bus is located just outside the car rental counters and do be mindful to go to the bus that goes to FREIBURG in Germany and not Friboug in Switzerland. euroAirport sits on the French, German and Swiss borders.

Wifi is not free and 24 hrs cost you €14.50 and is continuous usage. So if wifi is included in the room, that will be very helpful.

What to do in Freiburg:
1) Has direct connection to Zurich which is abt 2 hrs away, given that hotels in Switzerland is quit expensive, Freiburg is a good travel base. It has frequent trains to Basal SBB the Swiss region.

2) You may buy a regional ticket (check with DB staff) for €11 to Titisee - visit the lake, take a boat trip or picnic in summer will be fun. Train journey is around 45min n train departs from Freiburg Hbf every start of the hour. At Titisee is where you start your Black Forest tour (do note that there is no organized tours to go the Black Forest, it is mostly On your own trip). hop onto bus 7300 when you alight at Titisee station it is on the right, alight at Feldburg (you will see the cable car station) and take the cable card up to the peak of the Feldburg and enjoy the wonderful view. After you are done, you can either take the bus which you alight from to Todtau or hop onto the bus that is heading back to Titisee and return to Freiburg. If you alight at Todtau, to go back to Titisee, just cross to the other side of the road from the stop you had alight earlier on. (The bus stop sign may not be easily seen, but just cross the road and wait for the bus that returns to Titisee.

3. Visit the old own in Freiburg. Start ard 10am, there will be open market near the church...walk around and feel the German's way of life. Most of the visitors are within the country, you don't see much international tourists in Freiburg.

the hotel was excellent! very clean rooms, nice staff and a great location near the rail station.
the only disadvantage is that they take money for using the wi fi and a lot of it. the solution for this problem is very easy- just go to the starbaks that located under the hotel and you will have a free wi fi as much as you want.

Compact but intelligently designed rooms. Almost aircraft like toilets, but sleek.
Ideal location, bang at Railway station & 5 min walking from the picturesque old town.
Very friendly staff, speaking fluent English (a rarity in Germany) & great service.
A lavish breakfast spread.
Ideal for singles or couples travelling light; but not for families wanting to share room with kids.

Room Tip: All rooms are the same size, but as a rule higher floors the better.

It says on their advertisement and this is absolutely true. you step out of the train and you are at the hotel, which is perfect when you travel for business and hate wasted time. The rooms are clean, I disliked the fact that they were quite small but with a nice space for work, the staff is friendly and helpfull. Location is perfect - at the railway station and just 5 minutes walk from Altstadt and the cathedral. BUT no free wifi which is a disadvantage at this century....rates for interned connection are ridiculously high. The connection is served by The Cloud, and even a short period of 30 minutes costs 5€.

I stayed 3 nights in this hotel. The best thing is the convnient place, next to the train station. If you land to Basel-Mulhouse-Freiburg airport there is a bus which takes you from airport and leaves you in front of Intercity hotel.Rooms are clean, normal free space, with hair dryer. The breakfast is good with plenty of choices. The only disadvantage is that there is no free internet you have to pay by hour (e.g. 30 min 5E...)However i would stay again there if i visit freiburg

Stayed there for two night when visiting a supplier - the hotel was booked for me by the company. The hotel is conveniently located just at the railway station and just 5 minutes walk from Altstadt and the cathedral.
The room I got was on the 8th floor and overlooking the station. Despite the road just outside is heavily trafficked and the trains are arriving and leaving constantly, the room was very quiet (provided the window was closed).
The room itself was relatively small, but with a small working space, which is adequate.
Breakfast was actually quite fine, though the selections available on November 1st was a little more sparse than the day before due to a Roman-catholic holiday - and the price is in the high range. This could clearly be seen on the station and the city in general. But the evening before the town was bustling with life, noticeably the many young people dressed as ghouls, vampires, zombies and varieties thereof - this was actually quite fun to watch.
The room was clean and orderly, and the minute bathroom served its purpose.
But rates for interned connection are ridiculously high. The connection is served by The Cloud, and even a short period of 30 minutes costs 3€. The same rate applies for use of the computer in the lobby for changing airline tickets or checking in. It should be noted that when security certificates constantly blocked me from getting to ticket rebooking and then afterwards the attached printer did not work, the concierge helped me using the one behind the reception desk and printing out new boarding cards. Nowadays wifi should be complimentary and with the hassle of elaborate log-in schemes and remembering to log out again.
Included in the room rate was also a ticket for the public transportation in Freiburg - nice touch, but if you mainly want to see the Altstadt after a working day, everything is within walking distance.
All in all recommendable for a short stay, but other places in Freiburg are competitive, when it comes to price and ameneties.

Room Tip: Rooms higher up are more quiet.

We stayed for a night and its good for its location next to train station.Nice staff ,clean room, not noisy if windows are closed. They don't have any tea and coffee facilities in room.Room was quite expensive and reason I believe is their location.Good for business travelers or short stay.

Room Tip: Coffee shop in train station is brilliant for next morning.
