“Classy restaurant with welcoming service”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 5, 2013

I relied on TA when I chose this restaurant and it was not a mistake. It was in July and at first we were amazed there weren't too many guests. But the food was great and the French sommelier was very charming: he not only recommended the most suitable wine for our food, but also advised us where to go and buy some wine for home. He made it a point to go and talk to all the guests, having some advice or something nice to say to everyone.
The atmosphere is classy and friendly at the same time. It is not cheap, but worth the money.
A pity that the playground accross the street is quite noisy and may spoil your dinner intimacy if you start early.

“Elegant regional restaurant with a French touch”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 27, 2013

My husband and I chose this restaurant for lunch. The weather was getting chilly and the outdoor space under the green awning was not open, understandably, so we stepped up a flight of steps and into a very cosy and rather elegant little restaurant, which later proved to have a French influence (and a French waiter too). We saw two dining rooms and sat in the second one, round and with large windows opening out onto the square. The warmth of the place and the great hospitality we received immediately put us at ease.
I tried char with potatoes and salad, while my husband had Wiener Schnitzel with a lovely creamy potato salad. Bread was excellent too, served with various accompaniments. We noticed that, here like elsewhere, there was a trend to accompany bread with a creamy herby cheese or other flavoured spread rather than with butter. Or salt crystals. We ended our meal with a delicious crème brûlée. Not incredibly cheap, but certainly worth every penny, both for the food and for the commendable attitude of the staff. Recommended.

“A nice surprise”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 21, 2013

I was on a business trip to Baden-Baden along with some friends and we visited Stahlbad Restaurant without knowing about it. I can agree with my friends, it was a good surprise. Good meal, excellent scenery (it has a lovely park nearby so we also recommend a walk), good pricing for Baden Baden compared to other places. Congratulations to the Stahlbad team, and we look forward to our next visit.
