“Impossibly cosy”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 15, 2013

A little difficult to find in a backyard but worth the effort. A cosy affair, offering excellent regional food accompanied by a large range of beers and wines. Booking is recommended on weekends.

“Delicious!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 24, 2013

A visit to the Baldreit rewards those who seek it out from it's almost hidden location in the higgledy-piggledy back streets of Baden-Baden. Fortunately we had the foresight to book a day in advance, as it is very popular. Our waitress was friendly and welcoming, and brought us home-made onion bread and butter to eat while we studied the menu, which showcases local dishes and is very varied. My husband chose the braised pig's cheek which was sublime, melt-in-the-mouth and cooked with a very light touch. I chose the tartiflette which was also well-prepared and delicious. We finished the meal with a shared sweet flammkuechen, a popular local dish. We made a point of ordering local wine, and certainly their wines were amongst the best we had during our stay.

We would have been happy to eat there again as the food and service were excellent, and their prices very reasonable in what is an expensive town to dine in. Sadly, they were closed the following night, but I'm sure we'll be back to sample more of their lovely food next time we visit Baden-Baden.

“It's all good...”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 10, 2012

I can only say good things about this restaurant. The food was excellent. Every dish we had was wonderful. The service was perfect, our waitress was friendly, attentive, timely and helpful. The prices were surprisingly reasonable. We had been gouged at a restaurant the night before so were more than pleasantly surprised to receive the bill from Baldreit. The atmosphere is charming. It was a little tough to find but worth the search as it was by far the best meal we had in a recent visit to Baden Baden. Don't miss this one, it is great.

“Very good restaurant in Baden-Baden”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 29, 2012

We wanted to go to Altes Schloss Hohenbaden but it was closed on Wednesday. The receptionist at the hotel told to go to Baldreit. It was very difficult to find as you have to go through a small alley and the restaurant is in a underground cellar. Food is very nice. I had the special of the day, pig cheek and it's cooked to perfection. Loved the environment. Service is great and they speak perfect English. I think main is about EUR20

“Badische Küche”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 16, 2012

This little restaurant has really nice food from the area. Of course, these dishes are a little heavy, but hey, it's holiday! Don't get fooled by the rustic decor, the food and staff are excellent
