The first time we strolled down the Allee was in heavy rain. The River Oos was in furious spate. I have never seen a river go so fast. But, fortunately, the town escaped the heavy flooding seen elsewhere. A day or two later the sun was out and we enjoyed this long and pleasant walk. There is an amazing assortment of trees imported from all over the world, many of which were in bloom, each carefully labelled with Germanic efficiency. If you like to display of shrubs, wild flowers and grasses this is the place to be.
