“does not welcome foreigner”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed January 1, 2013

went there on both of the night when i stayed at baden baden. first day reached around 7 45 pm, the place was full with tables reserved. asked for time that I must wait, answer is 'we are full'. tried to reserve a table for 2 for the next night, but was told that she does not do reservation for 2. cold reply, didnt feel welcomed but thinking that she may be tired for the day so we went there again at 6pm the next day. the place is at most half full, and all the empty tables did not have the reservation sign. but then again was told that the place is fully booked. we tried to ask for the menu but was told NO. and that is going to be the last time i visit this place.

if you do not welcome foreigner, please write a sign outside. avoid at all cost. thank you.

“Must visit!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 15, 2012

We had lunch in this great wee place. Amazing sausages and wiener schnitzel. Huge portions and great beer. The lady who served us appeared to be the waitress, bar tender and cook but in no way did this affect the good service.

“Great Find!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 6, 2012

This place is very traditional german food with excellent prices. There is one lady who waits on everyone, and she is very sweet! This is a small little spot, but don't miss the opportunity to eat here!

“A great littlle place just a few steps away from the swanky hotels”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 14, 2011

We noticed Glockelstub when we were strolling around Baden-Baden, and made a mental note to try it out for dinner. On a cool April evening, we entering into a pleasant little bar.

There were only a couple of people in there. We found that the lady who brought us a menu spoke better English than my German! We ordered Wienersnitzel, which arrived on a huge plate with a leaf salad and pile of chips. Washed down with a dark beer, it was more than enough to eat, and I cannot report on the selection of desserts as we had eaten enough!

Definately find this lovely little place, if you're on a budget - 2 meals with a large beer and glass of local red wine - just over 30 euros! And who told you that Baden-Baden was expensive?
