“Ideal stopping off hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 10, 2011

Pulled off the motorway and found this hotel by sat nav locality, went for it as recognised the Best Western brand. Very friendly staff nicely decorated room with all facilities, tea, coffee, wifi, fridge, decent TV. Due to one night stay and late arrival just visited a bar around 200 yards away but the hotel is in the town centre so their is plenty of choice. You won't go far wrong booking this hotel.

3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 26, 2011

Have stayed here when travelling on business several times in the past 6 months. The location is nice in a small town in the southern Beaujolais. It is in town, walking distance to several restaurants, with free (although limited) parking. If you have a car, make sure you are at the hotel by 7 PM - or parking in the free lot behind the hotel will be full and you will have to park in city parking. It is a rather quiet town, the town shops close down at 6 , except for the bars/restaurants. The hotel is a 5 minute walk from the train station which has an easy trip to Lyon & the connecting stations from there.

The hotel staff is generally very friendly. English is spoken by all. Breakfast is expensive (11 Euro) for the rather limited offering- typical European 'buffet', coffee, juice, local breads, meat, cheese, cereal, and eggs. The rooms are typical European, small by American standards, but typical for Europe, with bed, desk, small flat screen TV, shower, separate toilet in the room. Beds are OK. The room does have a refrigerator with drinks - 3 Euro for beer, soda, etc... Rooms are very clean and somewhat modern. The A/C & heat are in room, but very quiet & functional The hotel does have a bar - but the only ones who use it are guests - and it is manned by the front desk person - so little 'bar atmosphere'. There are a couple of good bars down the street - an Irish pub, a couple of typical French neighborhood bars that would be a better solution. Sveral small restaurants are alos an easy walk. Wireless is free with a code from the front desk - somewhat spotty service & can sometimes be slow, but it is free.

Overall, if business brings you to the area, it is a good option compared to other hotels in the city. If you are on holiday, there are several smaller hotels in Beaujolais countryside that I would choose first.

A five-minute walk from the train station, this hotel faces on a small park in the center of town. Rooms are clean and spacious - mine came with a balcony that opened onto the park. The front desk staff is very helpful and all speak English. There is a grocery store, restaurant and numerous cafes two blocks from the hotel. The town has both train and bus (bus station is next door to train station) service to Lyon.

A good central location with secure parking. Our only problem was that we had booked an upgraded room with a double bed but the room stunk of stale cigarettes. However the reception did give us some spray to try to remove the smell as they did not have another room to move us. The breakfast was very good with all the usual continental choice as well as some hot choice. There are several restaurants nearby but mostly noisy bars. Would not stay in Villefranche - sur- Soane as really a suburb of Lyon too noisy and not much to sightsee!

It is great to find free wi-fi. The rooms were spacious and well maintained. I was quite pleased with the whole experience.

Good location with very comfortable rooms. Staff are efficient and multi-lingual, courteous and helpful. Rooms are rather modern, clean and well maintained with large king sized beds allowing for a good nights sleep.
Only a short 30 minute train ride to Lyon city centre, so no need to grapple with Lyon traffic & parking.
Free parking & wi-fi available.
Only criticisms are lack of sound-proofing and small towels in hotel.
