Returned to the hotel this year after sadly having to miss a year due to the hotel being full last year-our fault for leaving it too late to book. Hardly surprising it gets booked up early as it continues to be a fantastic place to stay.

I reviewed it at the beginning of March 2012 and my review from then still stands. However, the hotel is friendlier than ever with all members of staff doing everything possible to assist. During breakfast one day I noticed a family of 6 arriving after the breakfast cut off time asking for a complicated order. At no stage were the staff unwilling to help and in fact went out of their way to help.

The hotel is immacutely clean, the rooms comfortable, and the bar/sitting area with traditional log fire is very welcoming. Dinner, as described in my last review, is delightfully organised and run by Christine, the owner, with fine traditional food and she is more than happy to be flexible with the menu quite apart from being her usual charming self. Her ability to switch between languages and look after all her guests is legendary and great fun.

As I have said before the location of the hotel is perfect being a short walk to the centre of the charming Megeve where there are plenty of recommendations for ski hire at the bottom of the main telecabin up to the slopes. Pelloux Sports run by Nicolas, recommended by the hotel, had no problem changing skis or boots after a day when they didn't suit me and could not have had more helpful staff. Well worth using them.

All in all another great ski holiday made by the helpfulness of the hotel and all their staff. Christine and Jean Marie Allard could not have done more.

We were a family of three and looked for a place with three beds, centrally located in Megeve, not too expensive (althought Megeve is not cheap, of course), with good service. We found all of this at the La Grange d'Arly. The hosts were so nice, very friendly and warm. They speak English and Italian fluently (as we heard, perhaps even more languages). We got the top room on the 3rd floor, which had a nice extra room upstairs, where our 8-year old son comfortably bunked. Nice touch with sun blends in front of windows, confortable bed (although not double, but two single joined together). Breakfasts were good, and dinners great. We liked the flexibility with the dinners. You can choose if you want to it in, or go out to a restaurant. We normally only booked a table in the afternoon. You can choose the full menu, or (for a reduced price) only two or even one course (which we sometimes did). The wine list is good, with some excellent local wines, and they have a nice bar area with a comfy fireplace area. A very important plus was the excellent free wifi that worked everywhere. We'ver rarely had such good wifi in a hotel, and this is important today, as we were using computer, iPads and iPhones. Our son watched youtube all the time, which worked just fine. There is no swimming pool or spa, but a big sports center next door as all of this. There is a very short walk to the ski lift, and you can rent ski equipment in a shop only 10 meters away from the lifts. They also have a ski deposit, so you could leave your rented skis there for the night, so you don't have to carry any equipment through town. Lastly, the town is very charming. Our son liked the horse sleigh taxis very much. There are many excellent restaurants, bars and eating places. Didn't see any noisy discos or much of rowdy youths, which is great for familys and grown-ups. The place is great for children. The skiing in Megeve is a mix of mainly green/blue and red, which served our skill levels nicely. Plenty of beginner slopes, but also plenty of reds for the somewhat more advanced. A little bit of waiting at some ski lifts when the weather was nice. The ski lifts are somewhat agy, but works well enough. Would highly recommend La Grange d'Arly.

Megeve is a perfect family holiday location and this hotel is tops. It is central in town and blocks from the lift and shops. The owners are friendly and generous with advice. The food is included and wonderful here. Possible the only downside is the lack of a sauna or hot tup to relax after a day of skiing.

A lovely cosy hotel by the center of Megeve, with a warm romantic decoration. The rooms are confortable, clean and funtional. At breakfast the service was very wellcoming. Definitly a place I will choose the next time I come to Megéve.

My wife and I recently stayed at the La Grange d'Arly Hotel in Megeve, France. It is a great value five minutes from the heart of Megeve and a short walk to the ski/hiking lifts. The owners and staff are professional and accommodating. Staff speaks good English. A generous buffet breakfast is included. Many amenities make for a perfect stay: free wi-fi, TV in each room, great views, balconies, free parking, and 24-hour front desk service. The decor is unique with original paintings, a large book exchange, comfortable lounge, elevator. The hotel is maintained in impeccable condition. The large lounge is comfortable, attractive, and provides bar service. Complimentary snack (peanuts, chips, sausage chips) are provided with your drinks in the lounge. Prices are moderate.

Room Tip: Corner rooms in back provide lots of space, balconies, and great views.

We felt very comfortable here. We were late for everything - late arriving, late for breakfast, late for dinner. With beautiful smiling faces they reminded us you are never late for anything here. The restaurant, bar and front desk are available 24/7. This was all such a comfort as we explored the area and adjusted to the 7 hour time difference from home. We expected to try restaurants throughout the area and found ourselves returning every night to dinner at the hotel. Everything we had there was heavenly - the soups, the omelets, the salads, the breakfast - everything was obviously of the highest quality and very fresh. The owners were very helpful with tips for how to make the best of a visit to the Aiguille du Midi and Annecy. The bathroom was comfortable and had a separate room for the toilet, which helped with getting two people ready in the morning. The hotel is far enough from the main road that there is almost no road noise even with the windows open - which was essential as our room was no air conditioned. The design showed lovely craftmanship in the woodwork, and the decor was comfortable and not kitschy. There is a very comfortable living room/bar area, and a library. We were encouraged to take home any books we wanted, so we took a couple and left a couple. We've stayed in a dozen or so hotels in France and the hospitality here can not be beat, even at twice the price.

The only complaint is that the bed was quite hard. I didn't mind but my hubby was sore after three nights.

Beautiful family run hotel that puts many corporate run hotels to shame. Lovely owners and great staff. Fantastic food hand selected by Madame each day. Before we went my son said he would like to eat out at different places throughout the week. After the first meal he did not mention this again. Our third trip to Grange d'Arly but it will not be our last.
