“A bit worn out.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 weeks ago

I guess this hotel has seen better days. A bit worn out. The room and even the bathroom had some strange kind of carpet-like floor. Little to choose from at the breakfast "buffet". 10 minutes walk to the old city of Lyon. But the bed was comfortable and the room quiet. So the sleep was good

Overall this room was average. The furniture was a bit oldfashioned and worn out. My room was quite small with just enough space to walk around the bed. The stafety deposit box was broken and I only got 1 bottle of complementary water (no refill). In the room it was very warm, even when I turned of the heating so I left my window open. I had a window overlooking the roof of the restaurant where some kind of motor was running off and on (airco??).
The bathroom is small too but fine, with a nice 'walk-in' shower. The walls are thin; I could hear my neighbour talking in the next room about a nice restaurant in town
Breakfast is ok.The location was good. About 15 min walk to the station and 15 min to the old centre. Staff at reception was helpfull.

The staff was pleasant and most helpful But the pictures on their website are for the suites (3 of them) not the other rooms. They are small. The WiFi is SO SLOW that I had to use the hotel clerk's computer to download material. And the public computer in the lobby has Word2003 (seriously). The price is okay; the hotel is clean but could use an upgrade. We would look elsewhere.

Room Tip: Avoid room 203..small and right next to the elevated.

Stayed at the hotel with my husband during a weekend in July 2014. We found the hotel perfect for us; price 84 € per night, garage parking for our car, clean room and the area in the city center around the hotel was nice and calm. Helpful staff. I don't drink coffee in the morning so I asked for a hot chocolate, which I was served right away. Breakfast was too expensive, though, and cheeze in plastic packing is never nice.

2 of 5 stars Reviewed June 11, 2014

Looking forward to relax between meetings I arrived in the 4 star hotel I've booked.
Deception!!! This is may be a four star regarding the room prices but not regarding the comfort. In the bathroom which is compared to the room of a good size, there is nothing except a little soap and a body/hair-shampoo all in one. No body lotion, no shower cap, no slippers, no nothing !!! Things I'm usually get in every three star hotel.
My room was ground floor, going out to a side street - not much traffic, not much noise I thought. Error: at 6:30 am the nearby supermarket gets its daily delivery by a truck and a lot of going and coming with a forklift including banging of crates is going on for ages.
The room itself is very tiny - ok it's only for sleeping. The TV has some 13 of programs but all of them are blurred! Complaining about it at the reception I was told there is nothing to do about, it is like it is. What a chance that you can get the sound of the TV in the bathroom via an integrated speaker - at least I could listen to BBC news.

Sorry but I can't recommend this hotel - not as this price (140€ without breakfast!!! and at a special rate via on-line booking)

Room Tip: I think a room to the garden would be the best (not too much noise)

The bathroom was actually larger than the sleeping room! There were no chairs or tables in the room so we had to eat our croissants on the bed. The bed was comfortable and the air-conditioning worked fine. The hotel's location is great for seeing the city and has many good restaurants and other services nearby.

Room Tip: Ask if you can see the room before accepting.

I have just returned from a 4 night stay in the beautiful city of Lyon. We picked this hotel for a combination of location and price, but after reading the reviews on here I was not expecting too much. Whilst I agree the rooms aren’t large it had everything we required and was immaculately clean. The separate toilet and shower room was an advantage with 2 people sharing a room. With temperatures outside in the mid-thirties it was nice to return to a room kept cool by the quietest air conditioning I have come across in a hotel. The mini-bar also came in useful to store drinks bought in the supermarket a few doors down the street. The staff at Reception were friendly and very helpful providing detailed directions for us, which was more than the local Tourist Information office had been able to do. The Hotel would probably benefit from a bar, but there are a number bars and restaurants close by. I hope to be able to visit Lyon again and would have no problem with booking into this hotel again
