“Recommend,great value”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 30, 2013

We stayed at the Mercure Lyon La Part Dieu and found the Staff very friendly, helpful and efficient. Room was very clean and spacious, we were at back of hotel on the railway side but the double glazing of the windows kept out all the noise and we had no trouble sleeping.
Breakfast was more than ample and staff were very attentive to our requests. Would recommend if requiring a hotel near Lyon Railway Station it is just next door, shops were on other side of station and trams were on both sides. All in all a pleasant experience.

This is a very well designed hotel and a great value too. Everything was simple yet elegant. The room was spacious but not huge with plenty of space for clothes and luggage. The location is convenient to the train station, the airport, and the city tram system.

Very comfortable; close to Part-Dieu station; rooms air-conditioned but mercifully the windows would also open: unstocked mini-bar apart from complimentary bottle of water. Bathroom spotlessly clean; toilet a little reluctant to stop filling up. Breakfast excellent; alas no menus for the restaurant displayed in places so that you could see what you would be expecting to pay before entering the restaurant; they lost one potential customer that way! Otherwise as good as you would expect from the Mercure Brand.

Somewhat out of town, but centre easily accessible by bus. Beautiful room and the biggest tv I've seen in a hotel with large comfortable bed. Good breakfast. Parking discounted by staying.

Let down by failure to replace consumed items (like tissues or milk) and needing to be chased - even then offering bare minimum.. Overall feeling was that it was too expensive for what it delivered. Also hate their 'pay in advance no refund' policy.

Chose this hotel as we were arriving from Paris via TGV, touring Lyon for a few days, then renting a car. You literally exit the train station (Part Dieu) turn right and walk half a block. Virtually all of the major car rental agencies are behind the hotel. The hotel is within a 10-15 minute walk of the major shopping centre and, more importantly, Les Halles de Lyon Paul Bocuse. A walk to the vieux Lyon can be easily done in 30-45 mins. Not that much around the hotel itself as mainly residential or business but there's a Paul's in the train station that was great for breakfast and some other eating places in/around the train station. I would recommend walking through the train station and exiting the other side when seeing Lyon on foot as that will be the quickest way.

Room Tip: I booked the hotel directly through the Mercure website and got a better rate than any of the tradit...

The service was great and the hotel was clean, spacious and comfortable. One would expect it to be noisy since it is right next door to such a bustling train station, but the windows are insulated and you hear none of the sounds. Shopping is easy with a mall next to the train station, and down the block is a variety of restaurants. From the station, you can catch trains to locations all over France, plus the tram, metro and bus lines. So convenient. This is definitely the place I plan to stay on my next trip to Lyon.

Room Tip: Don't forget the RhoneExpress will carry you to and from the airport to the hotel location (mere...

We stayed for 2 nights at the top floor of the Mercure in, I guess, their best rooms and the experience was wonderful. The room is spacious very well furnished and the bathroom is awesome. You can take a bath while enjoying views of Lyon. We will be back !

(The only problem was to find the entrance of the underground parking. Not a small feat when you arrive at 11:00pm. But the night receptionist waved the parking fee as a way to apologize. Nice customer-oriented touch !)
