“Gorgeous eco friendly hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 9, 2012

This hotel exceeded my expectations in quality, design, value, and size. The room was huge by European standards. We had a double (queen sized bed) with tons of room to walk around the room, two chairs and a small table, big bathroom, separate toilet with its own sink. Two women could spread out clothes, shoes, etc. all over the place and still have room to walk around.

Bed was comfortable and room design was modern, elegant and comfortable. The bathroom fixtures were great. Big, walk-in shower with separate hand-held shower nozzle and adjustable rain shower. Beautiful light design in the bathroom. Multiple bedside lights include bendy reading light.

The lighting to do your makeup wasn't the best but didn't bother me.

Hotel bar / restaurant downstairs was gorgeous. Only ever had a Diet Coke which was pricey but worth it if you are fussy about lemon, perfect ice cubes, and soda from a glass bottle. Lots of little extra touches like that, which you don't have to ask for.

The room price was incredible - excellent value.

The location, next to the train station isn't exactly picturesque but it's super convenient and you can walk to train, bus, taxi or just take a long walk over to the more bohemian part of Lyon, opera house, etc.

Amazing hotel with a super spacious room. Decoration is fantastic, reality will not disappoint you compared to the pictures presented online. Very welcoming, well-maintained, clean, modern, quiet, close to the train station and easily accessible both from the city or airport.
Room service is quick and does a great job, even offering dishes not on the actual menu.
Thank you, Mercure.

The foyer says it all. Quiet pleasant quality. Tidy spacious room with king sizes bed. Separate entry, bathroom and toilet. Super close (1 block ) to train station, yet quiet as a church (double glazed windows), probiding a breakfast that would set you up for any mountain climb or less.
Great staff, great location, will defiantly visit again and tell all I know.
Thanks for a great night .

We stayed two nights in a privilege room. The room was massive, as was the bathroom. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel is right next to the train station and metro. Fantastic location from which to explore the City. Great hotel at a great price.

We stayed in one of the privilege rooms and it was superb, very high spec, tastefully furnished in a modern style. Huge bed, giant TV, coffee machine, big walk in shower and a separate toilet, free wifi.

The hotel is next to the railways station but you do not hear any outside noise, it is just very convenient to the station and the taxi rank. The car park is underneath the hotel and the hotel pays 50% of your parking charges, you just need to give the ticket to reception at checkout. The entrance to the car park was not obvious first, but just pass the main hotel entrance on your right and turn right at the end of the building. Very convenient.

Room Tip: Privilege rooms are fab!

We arrived by train and were happy to be able to walk to the hotel (just look for the car rental signs). We departed by rental car which again was within very easy walking distance from the hotel. Location is great since you have easy access to the subway (other side of the train station). Also, Part Dieu Mall is right next to the train station and offers you all major department stores, restaurants, etc. There are probably plenty of hotels within walking distance of the city center but we were pleased overall with the hotel.
Rooms are spacious, modern, clean, toilet separate from bath, and extremely quiet (surprisingly since you are looking either on a busy street or the tracks of the train station). You have plenty of options for breakfast and a sandwich lunch inside the train station so we decided not to use the hotel offers.
While I liked the hotel overall, I also want to mention 2 little incidents: Laundry was turned in on Friday morning and should have been returned on Saturday evening. When we asked on Saturday, the front desk told us that someone made a mistake and there was no laundry service before Monday (we left on Sunday, a quick check would have revealed that). A message to our room would have been appreciated. Also, housekeeping ignored our "Do Not Disturb" sign (we double checked that the sign was hung correctly), knocked at the door, opened the door quickly, and were insisting on entering the room. Again, the reaction of the front desk was a little nonchalant ( "a lof of people forget to take the sign off when they do want their room cleaned").
Again, overall we would recommend the hotel.
