“Good value for money”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 7, 2012

A good hotel, walking distance from the centre of Lyon (Place Bellecour) for a bit of sightseeing, yet right next door to the Lyon Perrache train station (ideal if you are coming by train) and to the A6 highway if you need to drive up towards Paris.
The rooms are not huge but big enough. They are clean and tidy, and the staff is nice.
The only downfall I see is the parking issue if you travel there by car as I understand that there is no parking option. In other words you have to find a parking space in the streets nearby which might be a bit tricky sometimes. Note also that the neighbourhood area of Perrache train station (as often around a train station) is not the greatest.

Overall a good experience, and less than 100 Euro for one night including bkfast is in my opinion very good value for money considering the location.

This hotel is conveniently located half a block from the Perrache railway station (not Part Dieu - there is a difference), which is also has a tram/bus/metro station. As other reviewers have noted, it's also next door to a great Art Nouveau bistro from the 1800s, Brasserie Georges.

The decor is a little spartan, being euro-contemporary style, and the rooms are on the small side. But there's an ample desk, reasonable bathrooms, free wireless, and very good breakfast. And all at bargain prices from the Accorhotels.com.

Room Tip: Rooms vary considerably in size, so you might want to try asking for one of the "larger" o...

Stayed five nights while at a conference and visiting Lyon. Great value - refurbished, clean room of reasonable size and very quiet. Staff exceptionally helpful and breakfast good. Hotel is next to metro so transport is easy and altho immediate surroundings are not wonderful, this was not a problem for us. Best restaurant we found in Lyon is les Adrets - not the cheapest but food is wonderful and represents fantastic value. Must book tho!

Overall this hotel isn't bad if you just want a place to sleep. It is however not in an ideal Lyon location. Although not a long distance away from the city centre, it is essentially between a rail/tram/metro station and a highway, making it difficult for pedestrians. You must cross through the unclean station to get anywhere and from there it is a 5-10 min bike ride or 10-15 min walk to anywhere worth going. Aside from the adjoined brasserie there are no (good) restaurants or stores nearby. The front desk service wasn't very friendly. The rooms are nice but that's about it.

First time at an ibis so tempered my expectations. Pleasantly surprised. Location is terrific. Accessible by metro and tram at perrache station.

Room was small but very clean. Again have to consider European expectation for room size.

Free wifi. Speed was adequate.

Staff was great. Helpful with directions and suggestions. Friendly overall.

Got a great rate. Room was good. Location great. Staff friendly. Can't ask for anything else.

Definitely recommend.

This is of course a Ibis Hotel with the typical Ibis style, but the hotel is located in a historical building and they integrated the ibis style in an original way. The room I had was rather large, clean, with a clean bathroom. Buffet breakfast was good.
The location is close to a public transportation hub (Perrache), and although a major highway and train station is located nearby, I had no noise problems in my room! Next door is the famous brasserie georges, but otherwise the surroundings are not really nice - but overall it takes you ten minutes by foot to get to the city center.
