My wife and I stayed at this hotel in Lyon during a two-week European tour. We loved it! It's not in the centre of town, but from the train station it's a 10 minute ride (C-1 Bus/Tram)...very easy. The stop (Musee d'Art Contemporain) is literally in back of the hotel...you can also catch the #58 bus downtown. We never took the bus, as the most fun (and cheapest) option were the Velo'v bikes. There's a bike station in front and in back of the hotel, and there were always plenty available. The ride into the centre is only 10 minutes, and you can turn them in on either side of the river (if you don't want to risk riding on the streets in the city, you never even have to leave the bike path along the river!). We rode back and forth five times.
The Parc de la Tete d'Or is also literally across the street. Another great place to bike (or walk). The park even has a (free) zoo...most impressive.
As for the hotel itself: As we are HHonors Gold Members, we were given access to the Executive Lounge, which was great for breakfast, and a drink or two before heading out for dinner in the evening. We pretty much had the lounge to ourselves everytime we stopped by. There are several restaurants in the hotel, but we never bothered, as Lyon is known for it's restaurants. The staff was also very helpful (the concierge even helped me jam one of the bikes into it's holder when I couldn't get it!) All-in-all, a great stay!
