“Great Location to Bron Airport and downtown”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed yesterday NEW

I have stayed at this Hilton several times over the past couple of years. While the Hotel is great the rooms are getting tired and the gym is small and the hot tub is not working.

This Hilton property will become a Marriott on February 1, 2015. This is probably the reason that updates have not been done to the rooms and facilities in general.

Room Tip: Higher rooms are quiet on either side of the building. The east side rooms offer views of the Parc...

The hotel is at the banks of the river, easily reachable from the airport and not too far from the city. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I got a room with and access to executive lounge. The iotel seems to be a bit dated, so even though it seems ti be well maintained, there is a feeling that it may be nice to give the rooms and the coridors a bit of a facelift. The underground parking is rather large for a French hotel, which was a pleasant surprise. The executive lounge is great, with more than adequate breakfast choices. All in all, a pleasant stay.

We stayed at Hilton Lyon for there nights during the Fête des Lumière and payed a hefty sum of €340 per night for an executive room. The hotel is situated next to a large park in the International City next to an art museum well worth a visit. There are several buslines behind the hotel and the city center is normally a 5-10 min busride away. During the light fest however all public transport in the city centre was closed. Walking was the only choice in the evenings which was about 10 minutes to the first light installation and 25-30 minutes to the city centre.

The room was quite boringly decorated and very tired. It was really in need of a make over. The room was clean but the shower had tendencies of mould stains and the tiles were cracked in places and the furniture was chipped and a bit worn. The carpet had large stains concealed by the floran pattern. The pillows were a dream but the mattress a bit to form for my taste. The view over the park was fab!

The breakfast was fine but the service in the brasserie was a bit tired and slow when taking coffee orders. The service and complimentary refreshments in the executive lounge however was superb!

They charge for wi-fi in the rooms and the charge is very high. In public areas you can recieve an access code from the front desk free of chargé.

The hotel offers a totalt ok gym and the park is fantastic for long runs in the morning.

The cab fare to and from the airport 20km away is steep about €70.

Overall the hotel was overpriced and a bit tired but with friendly staff it was ok.

Room Tip: Request rooms situated in the back towards the park. The only noice are the electrical busses and th...

While in Lyon for an exhibition we stayed at the Hilton Hotel. The room was nice and offered all the necessary things like minibar, safe, chair, desk, ironing board etc. But most of all I liked the spacious bathroom with a seperate shower.

This is perfect. Although, unfortunately, the shower leaked so the bathroom was pretty wet after having finished showering. This seemed to be a problem that existed for some time, given the black fungee at the shower seals...

Although I normally complain about these kind of things I knew the hotel was fully booked so I did not bother mentioning a problem that could not be solved during the time I was staying there.

Nevertheless, the (bath)room was very clean and comfortable.

Also the service of the staff was good and in a friendly manner.

Only two things could be different according to me:
1. the prices of drinks in the bar must be lower. Compared to similar hotels this was really at the top...
2. Free wireless internet should be offered in the rooms. Hilton seems to have a policy that they only offer it in the lobby; this is outdated...

Dear Guest,

Thank you very much for taking time to write about your experience in the hotel. I am glad to see the score you gave us and, particularly, your mention about the service, cleanliness and friendliness of the team members.

Also, I thank you for your comments about the rooms and your advices regarding the bar and wireless internet. We will take them into consideration during the next price review meeting. As a matter of information, wifi policy is under review and, for the moment, free access is offered in public areas to our guests and visitors and full access to our guests having the HHonors loyalty card (Gold and Diamond) staying in the hotel.

Thank you again for your feedback!! I really hope to welcome you back soon.

Kind regards,

Ignacio Rodriguez

We have stayed in this hotel many time and I only have only good things to say. When you check in all is ready and takes only a few minutes they are very effective. The rooms are clean, king size comfortable beds. Breakfast is very good and a very nice variety. They have a main dining room down stairs and we have had dinner there several time and good food. The hotel is on the Rhone river and some of the views are very nice. There is a bus stop right in front of the hotel and it is a short ride to the down town area. Lyon is one of my favorite cities.

Room Tip: A view of the Rhone River is always nice

Hotel was perfect for access to conference centre with reasonable breakfast ( pot of hot tea would be preferable to making one's own with tepid water frm a jug and a tea bag)! A little out frm the city centre but local bus stop nearby enabled transit within 15m.

The location was good, the room was clean with comfortable king size bed, and the morning breakfast was excellent (different kind of ham, chesee, tea, meat, salad). Staff always helpful, smiling. Ask for map, they will mark places where is worthy to go. Bus C5 just in front of the hotel will take you for 2 euro to the centrum.
