“Don't spoil your Summer vacation”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed September 21, 2010

Even if the hotel is very well located, you will have a very bad time dealing with the extreme heat inside the room. The people at front desk who are generally kind will provide you with one or tw fans that won't do much to improve your stay.

Since this is an aparthotel, guests are allowed to cook in their rooms. This will bring about bad odors mostly everywhere in the hotel.

The furniture is old and worn. Don't spoil your summer vacation in this place.

My 4 year old son complained about the smell of our accommodation. On a positive note, the widows opened and they supplied 2 fans, which helped (and cooled the place given it didn't have A/C). We didn't have any hot water issue that some people complain about. Parking is nice to have, but very difficult to access. My son slept on the pullout bed in the living room, I think anyone heavier than him would have found it quite uncomfortable.

Read some good reviews here so decided to book a studio room on our 4-day trip to Lyon in June 2010. Unfortunately we got a smoking room, which we complained about as it smelled really awful, but were told that all non-smoking rooms were unavailable. The carpets were worn and dirty in our studio room. There was no air-conditioning, which I didn't expect, so we had to sleep with the windows open, resulting in us getting bitten by mosquitoes all night. There are no proper beds in the studio rooms - be warned as this is not clear on the citadines site. You get a sofa-bed which is the most uncomfortable thing i've ever slept on. It folds out to make 2 narrow single beds. The mattress was only about a couple of inches thick, laid on a cheap metal wire frame and the cushion covers were worn and stained. Considering we were paying about 120 euros per night it really was not worth it. It felt like we were living in a caravan home - a poor one. Its location did not make up for the poor quality. We couldn't wait to check out and promptly moved to Ibis hotel after 2 unbearable nights at citadines.

An average industrial cookie cutter hotel, great location, decent staff- the primary problem is that the hot water is quite limited- it turns off after you use your quota in the morning and doesnt return until 10:30 pm. the strangest...and very very french idea

It is hard to go past this apartment hotel in terms of location. Located right in the middle of the old town with the subway, restaurants and shops all just around the corner.

The rooms are well appointed and clean, although we would have prefered a real bed rather than a sofa bed. That said we had a very comfortable stay.

The hotel is - as all other reviewer said - in a great location, within walking distance to many of the main attractions. It's also smack in the middle of one of the larger concentration of restaurants in Lyon - very easy to find a place for dinner. For breakfast we recomend to leave out the hotel breakfast and head to "Pain and Cie" just three blocks away for their delicious selection of breads and anything that goes on it.
The room itself looked a bit tired, especially the bathroom, but was functional and quiet. We enjoyed mostly the relative proximity to Vieux Lyon which allowed to go out after dinner for a walk along the river without relying on transportation.
